Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard?
Are you kidding me?
I don’t even need to know the details, my mind was already racing.
That was my reaction to a recent call from our favorite VGM consultant Margo Colarossi when she called and asked if I’d help a member out and get a chair (that I don’t even sell) to Martha’s Vineyard for a tremendously important case and customer of theirs this weekend. Needs to be there by the 23rd.
“Consider it done”
I rigged all the possible scenarios already….I’d bring Dom and Dylan and I’d have an uninterrupted and inescapable (for them) time with them on an adventure to Martha’s Vineyard.
36 hours of pure joy for me, and well for them they were stuck with me.

Right out of the gate we had problems…
I lost one, Dyl was on call and it was his anniversary weekend with his girlfriend
We are down to 2…
Tricky ferry schedule…we could only get a 5:15am ferry on Sunday and a 7am out on Monday morning. (The Steamship Authority is no joke. There is no room for negotiation)
Screw it let’s do it.
It was Thursday we had no choice.

So off we went.
Oak Bluff you did not disappoint.
Our colleagues customer was ecstatic that we made it before their loved one arrived. Woot woot!
For me, I had one of the best Sundays of my life.
Dom you’re an amazing son and a very worthy mission partner.
On The Mend will never say no to a mission, especially when it’s to paradise.

I love how we swarm!!

When it comes to emergency medical equipment placement - ramps, stairlifts, hospital beds, or anything else we have in stock, I’m amazed at how little time people get to leave rehabilitation facilities or recovery rooms of hospitals. It seems so unfair that you don’t find out your insurance runs out until you find out your insurance runs out.

I wanted to show our warehouse and install team just how important they are to our organization, so we headed down to the greatest place on earth. Yankees Stadium. I’ve had so many great memories tailgating and at the stadium, being from the Bronx, and I was happy to create new ones with this team of all stars.

As we sat there and contemplated leadership, it is much like a baseball coach trying to decide who is pitching, who is catching, and who is playing where in outfield. Our team is a bunch of guys who play their position very well, and if not for them, OTM would not be at the ball park.

The Yanks are the greatest baseball team on earth, but I feel like the best team at the stadium was the one I sat with. Thank you team, for all you do, here’s to many more trips. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did.

One of the most challenging issues we come across in both aging in place and those living with disabilities is getting them safely in and out of their home.

OTM Yacht Adventure ft. Dom, Dyl & Golden Technologies 🛥️💚💙

Dyl and I went down to the Omni Hotel in New Haven to pick up one of our customers upgraded rental chairs. We were told to go to Old Saybrook, CT to drop it off to our customers Yacht. We did not know what to expect and when we get there we see a 160 FT yacht. We were amazed. In order to get the chair on the Yacht we had to bring it on the “plank” over the water which was a little precarious.

You do not need a yacht (although, We loved this delivery to our cherished customer on a beautiful, sunny, New England day!) No matter the circumstances, OTM always delivers!

Next Day Ramp ♿️💚💙

We had gone into a case we were referred to - a hospital bed and lift chair. Our customer was coming home the following week, everything was set up for her. Lo and behold, the day she came home the nursing team was wondering why there wasn’t a ramp and how was our customer to get in and out of her house in a wheelchair?

20 feet of ramp and a custom 4 foot ramp made out of wood to allow the storm door to open. 

That next day there were appointments, therefore we had to get out there quickly and get the ramps set up. As always, we were ready and willing to provide this solution. We are a “now” center and in order to be the company of choice in a “now” situation it is necessary to have a warehouse full of ready to go medical equipment. That’s what we have, that’s what we do, and that’s who we are.
