📚Happy International Children’s Book Day! 📚

Books open the door to imagination, learning, and connection. When children read, they’re not just hearing stories—they’re building language skills, expanding vocabulary, strengthening comprehension, and learning to express themselves with confidence.

Reading together also creates meaningful moments between children and caregivers, helping develop social-emotional skills and a lifelong love of learning.

Whether it’s a favorite bedtime story or discovering a brand new adventure, every page turned helps a child grow. 🌱

Most people have heard of Physical Therapy or Speech Therapy but what is Occupational Therapy? No, we don’t help you get a job...well at least not in the way you think. :)
Occupational Therapists are people who help individuals achieve their goals. This can be by promoting independence, developing new skills or coping strategies, or learning something new. Occupational Therapists help individuals from all walks of life, and from all stages of life from infants to older adults.
At SPG occupational therapy can help with:
• Fine motor skills: finger and hand activities
• Gross motor skills: balance, coordination, strength
• Visual motor skills: eyes and hands working together
• Self-care and daily independence: dressing, bathing, eating, sleeping
• Daily tasks including cooking, cleaning, organizing or maintaining personal spaces
• School tasks such as cutting, coloring, drawing, writing, and executive functioning
The list goes on and on! The sky’s the limit with Occupational Therapy. If you are curious to learn more about OT and would like to know if it can help you, your child or a loved one visit our website and sign up for a FREE phone consultation www.spg-ct.com

Spring is the perfect time to turn play into progress 🌷

At SPGCT, we use play-based therapy to build speech, language, and motor skills in meaningful ways. Try it at home with a seasonal twist!

Did you know a simple scavenger hunt builds BIG skills?

Speech Therapy:
🗣 Expanding sentences “I found a yellow flower!”
🌼 Describing words
🧠 Following directions

Occupational Therapy:
✋ Fine motor skills
👀 Visual scanning
🌱 Sensory exploration
🚶 Motor planning

Take a slow walk outside together. Notice the little things. There’s no rush — just explore, talk, and
enjoy the season.

Here are some things you can hunt for:
• A flower
• Something green
• A bird or a bird sound
• A small rock
• A stick
• Something that feels rough
• Something that feels smooth
• A bug or butterfly
• A sign that spring is here
• Your child’s favorite find
