🫶🏽 It’s Kindness Club week! We’ll be making Valentines to be delivered to local skilled nursing facilities with .friends.group.nc on Wednesday!
👩🏽‍🎨 Additional Process Art on Monday at 3:45 (ages 4-10) We DO have a little space available currently
🎨 Mindfulness + Sensory Play both Thursday at 3pm and Friday morning at 9:30am (all ages with grown-up)
👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏽 Speech Play Group next week with — Friday, 2/23 at 9:30!
🌟 The next Goodnight Mindfulness and Young Artist 5-Week Series begin next week!

Would you look at that face? All smiles today in speech. 🥰Sometimes we need to “trick” them into working and disguise it as play. And today, it so worked! We had fun and worked on our speech sounds! Spunky little speechster right here, and we love it! 💖

Sometimes speech therapy makes an immediate difference. But, let’s be real, just like learning any new skill, most often, IT TAKES TIME.

Speech Language Pathologists have specialized training to develop a plan that will work for each child. It is individualized, strategic, and targeted. We celebrate steps along the way because we know, in the end, the process is beautiful and can create some pretty magical changes!

At Splashes of Speech LLC, we celebrate effort and small victories because we know what we are working for is functional and will allow for better communication and connection for each of our clients!

How about those older kids with speech sound errors? How do we support them without too much pressure or affecting their confidence? Also, where is the time to practice?

Here are some quick tips to help! At Splashes of Speech, we pride ourselves on promoting speech practice through play, in a low pressure setting. That’s not to say we don’t have high expectations; because we DO! But we praise like crazy for every attempt, trial, and self-correction! Speech sound errors are not easy to correct, just like habits in our lives aren’t easy to change!
• Be patient.
• Provide low pressure opportunities.
• And love the effort and successes along the way! 💫

With quite a few new faces following us these days, I thought I’d introduce myself again!
My name is Lenay Ludwig. I am the owner of and speech-language pathologist at Splashes of Speech LLC. Although I am a native of Colorado, military life has brought us to the beautiful state of North Carolina. Specifically Southern Pines in Moore County!
I have 13+ years of experience working with children of all ages in all areas of communication. I have worked in outpatient, in-patient, private therapy, and school therapy settings. Starting Splashes of Speech LLC has allowed me the flexibility I have longed for as a therapist. We can work on targeted speech and language goals while changing settings, activities, and having fun! Less restrictions makes for a better speech therapy experience for all children! We can connect, communicate, play, and learn at Splashes of Speech!
We are located at The Connection Corner in downtown Southern Pines. It’s a truly magical space for children to grow in all areas of development and we are proud to be a part of it! 💫

We provide private pay speech therapy and have a toddler group weekly through The Connection Corner. Be on the lookout for NEW HAPPENINGS IN 2023! It’s an exciting time at Splashes of Speech LLC! 💖
