You expected a glow.

Instead you’re bloated, peeing every 20 minutes, and wondering why your pelvis already feels different.

First trimester is all about letting your body water and adjust to what's developing.

Second trimester, you're body is talking to you much more than before. This is the time to start pelvic prep. Ample amount of time to get started on training your body for the delivery ahead.

Early support now = easier recovery later.

The Science of Placenta Shape 🌱👶🏾

Did you know that the shape of the placenta is influenced by oxygen levels in the womb during early pregnancy? Here’s how it works:

• Low oxygen stimulates growth: In the beginning, the lining of the uterus has naturally low oxygen levels. This actually encourages the placenta to grow and develop properly.
• Temporary blood flow blockage: As the placenta forms, it blocks some blood from the mother’s spiral arteries for a few weeks. This keeps oxygen levels low until the placenta’s structure is fully established.
• Too much oxygen can affect growth: If oxygen levels are too high during this critical time, it can interfere with placental growth.
• Odd shapes can result: Sometimes, if one or more spiral arteries don’t plug correctly, oxygen from the mother can suppress growth along the edges or in certain areas, creating a placenta that is irregularly shaped.

Understanding how the placenta develops helps us appreciate its amazing adaptability and the intricate ways it supports your baby throughout pregnancy.
