Our Story

With over 10 years of counseling experience, owner, Venus L. Works decided to open her own private counseling practice; one that would focus on women's mental health in order to build strong families. Our practice places special emphasis on Women's Mental Health Issues + Disorders to address the growing needs in these areas.

Counseling Works, PLLC officially opened its doors in 2017, providing professional counseling and personal development services tailored to women and their families in the Detroit area. Our mission is to support the individual growth of women through counseling; in doing so, support the overall health of their families. Our core beliefs are that what builds a strong family and what makes each relationship successful is communication and trust.

Our private counseling practice makes you feel at home, brings great compassion for families, and uses research-based practices for every session in order to meet your individual needs. Venus believes that, "It's the counseling experience that's uniquely tailored to women's needs that sets this agency apart."
