We'd like to introduce you to Elaine. She has shared with us all her lanyards from all the places she has volunteered over the past 35 years. Such places as the Fox Theater, Cranbrook, The Parade Company, The Detroit Zoo, Detroit Riverfront Conservatory, Red Cross, Belle Isle, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and several others. Elaine didn't have any hobbies at the time of her divorce, and her son went into the service, so she knew she needed to find something to do and to meet other people. Elaine met her calling. If you ever get a chance to talk to her, she has stories about a lot of different things. Thank you for sharing your passion with us. Come check out her lanyard collection in our activity room.

We welcomed the Traveling Sales Gals to our community for a craft and vendor show. The Traveling Sales Gals only show at senior communities, so all their products, crafts, and trinkets are geared towards seniors. We had lots of fun shopping in our own living room.

Patriot Day, observed annually on September 11th, is a day of remembrance in the United States to commemorate the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It also recognizes those who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, as well as those who died trying to rescue others. In addition to remembrance, Patriot Day also encourages community service and acts of service in honor of the victims.
