Led by Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield Campus, Safe Kids Oakland County is 1 of 14 Safe Kids Coalitions in Michigan and 1 of 400+ Safe Kids Coalitions Worldwide working to reduce traffic injuries, drownings, falls, burns, poisonings, and more. Our philosophy is that losing one child is one too many, and we don't want any parent to have to endure the loss of a child. We're calling on everyone to come together, to raise awareness and to get involved.

CPSC Approves New Federal Safety Standard for Neck Floats to Prevent Infant Deaths and Serious Injuries - The new rule will require toy neck floats to meet the new CPSC mandatory safety standard. The Commission is adding performance requirements; and revising labeling requirements including mandating warnings on products and instructional literature after receiving 115 reported incidents including two deaths involving neck floats.
