Did you know……….School shootings are steadily on the rise ?

The number of school shootings in the United States has increased significantly in recent years, and the rate of children being victims has more than quadrupled since 1970:

-Number of victims: From 1970 to 2021, the rate of children being victims of school shootings increased from 0.49 to 2.21 per 1 million people.

-Number of deaths: From 1970 to 2021, the number of deaths from school shootings increased more than sixfold, from 0.16 to 0.97 per 1 million people.

-Percentage of school shootings that resulted in deaths or injuries: Between 2000–01 and 2021–22, 70.8% of the 1,375 school shootings resulted in deaths or injuries
