Gleaners is hosting drive-up food distributions this week, which are free and open to the public. Anyone in need of food is encouraged to attend and will receive over 35 pounds of nutritious groceries, like milk, fresh fruit, vegetables, lean protein, and other shelf-stable items while supplies last.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication, or AAC, is a range of tools and systems that support or replace spoken language for individuals who experience communication barriers.

AAC can include no-tech methods like gestures or sign language, low-tech tools such as picture boards and communication books, and high-tech devices like speech-generating tablets and apps. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. AAC is personalized to meet each individual’s abilities, needs, and environment.
For individuals with cognitive disabilities, developAugmentative and Alternative Communication, or AAC, includes tools and systems that support or replace spoken language.
From gestures and picture boards to speech-generating devices, AAC helps reduce communication barriers, support independence, and create understanding for individuals with cognitive disabilities and speech impairments.
Accessibility is not optional. Communication is a human right.
