The back-to-school season can feel overwhelming for many neurodivergent children. New routines, classrooms, and social changes can add extra stress—but with patience and support, caregivers can help ease the transition. 💙

Here are 5 ways to make the shift smoother:
1️⃣ Establish Consistent Routines (with flexibility!) – Visual schedules, timers, or practice runs can help build predictability.
2️⃣ Encourage Independence in Small Steps – Let kids choose clothes, pack part of their lunch, or organize supplies at their own pace.
3️⃣ Be Patient with Big Feelings – Validate emotions and model calming strategies like breaks, breathing, or fidgets.
4️⃣ Communicate & Advocate with Teachers – Share what helps your child thrive and keep the conversation going.
