Humidifiers and vaporizers may harbor molds and bacteria that can affect your health. Evaporative models are the least likely to admit bacteria, but leave the unit on until the filter is completely dry to reduce the chances of mildew growth. Clean all these items frequently as a manufacturer directs. Always clean and rinse out these appliances before storing them.

CLEANING FYI :
Marble is very vulnerable to "etching" by any type of acidic cleaner, including vinegar and lemon. Since many cleaning products include acid, read labels carefully before using them on marble.
