We often times get asked: "Can stress cause acne?"
The answer is not simple. Stress can increase the levels of a hormone called cortisol in the body which in turn can fluctuate other hormones that flare up acne. Stress can also result in a change of daily routine (not applying medications or taking care of your skin as directed).

MYTH: You don't need need to wear sunscreen on cloudy/rainy days
FACT: Despite the clouds being in the way, the UV radiation reaches the earths surface so it is important to apply SPF >30 on a daily basis with reapplication as directed on the packaging.

Poison ivy, oak, and sumac can cause an itchy, blistering rash after coming into contact with an oil called urushiol (oil that is found on the plants). In most people, it appears in a few hours to few weeks after contact. It typically goes away by itself but sometimes may need treatment.

What are skin tags? Skin tags are harmless, soft, skin lesions that appear in areas of friction, due to high levels of certain growth factors, or due to insulin resistance. They can easily be removed by your dermatologist or PA with scissors or cryotherapy.
