✨Gratitude ✨

There are so many benefits of gratitude including increasing/building positive emotions, shifting negative mindsets, and improving self-esteem and productivity.

Practicing gratitude is something we can do each day. Some people like to start their day listing or naming things they are grateful for or others like to do it before bed. The best part is you can do it any time of the day. You can think it, say it, write it..whatever feels best for you.

I encourage my clients to be mindful and specific with what they come up with. For example, instead of generally saying ‘I am grateful for my kids’ think of something that day they did that you are grateful for. ‘I am grateful for the silly way my son made me laugh today’. Or instead of ‘I am grateful for my job’ try to list a specific aspect of your job or something that happened that day.

This can help you be more intentional with your gratitude thoughts and can have a bigger impact overall. It forces you to shift your thinking in a positive direction and that can have a huge benefit to our overall mindset.

Hi everyone, my name is Kara Oliveira, and I am a licensed clinical social worker providing individual therapy for adults. I wanted to reintroduce myself as I have recently opened some new space on my caseload. I also wanted to share my new Instagram: .oliveira.lcsw

I’ve been a therapist for over 10 years now, and I truly love what I do. It is the greatest honor walking along side my clients as they work towards creating a more balanced life. I work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, substance use concerns, and life transitions.

I currently offer in-person sessions in Southington as well as virtual sessions.

My goal is to help you feel more grounded, clear, and fulfilled.
