Today we celebrated International Guide Dog Day with a special visit from Liz and Carol.

They shared the inspiring journey of raising puppies that will one day become seeing eye dogs, giving residents an educational and heartfelt look into the dedication behind this important work.

It was a meaningful afternoon filled with learning, conversation, and plenty of smiles as everyone enjoyed spending time with the puppies.

Yesterday brought a soundtrack of memories and meaningful moments. 🎶

The day began with the Wolcott Senior Center Chorus, inviting residents to sing along and be part of the music in a way that felt both fun and familiar. Later, Pat and Jane Marino took everyone on a musical journey around the world, sharing songs that reflected different cultures and honored the rich backgrounds of those listening.

It was a day filled with connection, smiles, and the kind of music that stays with you.

Friday night brought the perfect mix of music, laughter, and connection during our monthly Care-e-oke. Residents and our Care-e-oke family spent over two hours singing, clapping along, and enjoying each other’s company. The room was full of energy, familiar tunes, and those moments that make everyone feel part of something special. 🎤

The fun continued into Saturday with a charming tea party shared between 10 of our residents and Daisy Troop 61153 from Derynoski Elementary School PTO. The group spent time painting ceramic animals before sitting down to enjoy tea together, creating meaningful and lighthearted connections across generations. Many of the girls arrived dressed in their finest, which brought so many smiles and added an extra touch of magic to the day.

A heartfelt thank-you to the mothers and grandmothers who helped make this visit possible—we loved every minute of it. 💐

Happy Arbor Day! This morning was full of color, creativity, and a little bit of gardening fun as residents painted terra cotta pots and planted fresh herbs. 🌿

These little plants are just getting their start—soon they’ll move into our raised garden beds, and with any luck, they’ll make their way into a delicious homemade sauce later this summer. From pot to plate, we love watching something small grow into something special.

Last night’s fundraiser was filled with powerful moments, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of community.

A big thank you to our Dementia Program Director, Heather Hitchcock, for bringing this special evening to life. Medium Janine Baryza had everyone fully engaged, sharing messages that truly resonated—creating moments many will carry with them.

We’re also grateful to Constellation Health Services for the refreshments, the local businesses who donated raffle items, and everyone who came out to support such an important cause.

Residents enjoyed a meaningful Earth Day filled with creativity, laughter, and remembrance.

We celebrated by making and decorating butterfly houses that will soon be placed throughout our beautiful gardens as the weather warms, adding even more beauty to the season ahead.

The afternoon brought music and humor with Larry Batter, ending with a heartfelt tribute to his brother Jeff, who recently passed away unexpectedly. Jeff was an entertainer cherished by so many of our residents, and honoring his memory through song created a truly special moment shared by all.
