We had a great group come out to Bicentennial Park in Southlake today to get things set up and ready for our Alzheimer's Walk tomorrow. Team work makes the dream work!! Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow.

So today was National Talk like a pirate day. Our NEST (Navigating Elderly Solutions Together) group decided to take some b***y (candy and trinkets) that we had plundered and we dressed in our best Pirate attire and headed to a couple of area nursing homes. We shared that pirates b***y with those sweet residents and they absolutely loved it, and us. Arrrrr, Though we need to brush up on our ability to speak pirate, the candy and smiles were totally understood. So much fun and brightened so many residents day. We made it through the day and no one had to walk the plank!

This Monday morning started off strong! Our SOCS ( Serving our Community Seniors) group met to fill bags for our upcoming event! On Aug, 21st we will be celebrating National Senior Citizens Day at the Colleyville Senior center with Bingo, bags of swag and Snow Cones!! We are looking forward to this event and having fun with our community seniors!

I toured a beautiful new Care home that is opening in Garland! This home is Nurse owned and she is so excited to start taking care of seniors and providing great care. Message me if you would like to learn more about this beautiful home and nurse.

Yesterday Our NEST ( Navigating Elderly Solutions Together) group had a blast playing Family Feud at the Euless Senior Center! These Seniors were so fun and competitive . We are so excited to get our Walk to End Alzheimer's kicked off with a party.. would love to see everyone. Wear your cool shoes, there will be a great gift for the winner of the Coolest Kicks!! Also, we are raffling off several baskets to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association. Who doesn't LOVE a Texas BBQ party?

What a week!! We celebrated this Friday with a team meeting brunch to welcome our new Office Manager, Natalie Cotanch to our team. We also have included our little Intern for the summer, Josie Bird! She has the title of LTSOS Intern. ( Learning To Serve Our Seniors)

Such a fun afternoon yesterday helping Brookdale Eden Estates host an Easter Egg Hunt for the Grands and Great-Grands of their residents. The littles were so cute and excited. The Grandparents were so proud and enjoyed watching them find eggs. The Littles colored Easter Eggs, received Easter Tatoos , played games and won prizes. Yesterday, our Navigating Elderly Solutions Together (NEST) group presented to the seniors at Richardson Senior Center. We had a great time with lots of interaction and laughs while answering their questions about Memory Care, Elder Law, Estate Planning, In Home Care, and why it's important to contact a local senior placement specialist before starting an online search for senior living options.

Many of you know that this month is Social Workers month and we want everyone to know that we appreciate the hard work these fine people do every day in the specific areas of their work. We want to highlight a special social worker that is on our team and she has served Seniors either in Hospice or skilled nursing, and now with Assisted Living Locators MidCities DFW for getting close to 10 years. She loves working with Seniors and advocating for them. We are so very happy to have her serving Seniors and their families with us for about 14 months now. She has a heart that is tender, loving and caring. She is musically talented and can bring so much laughter to our day with her humor. We love this lady and we feel so blessed to have her serving alongside us. Please help me celebrate Amy Watson Bird for this social worker month.
