Filtered water is important in maintaining your health, especially when it comes to your thyroid. We encourage patients to avoid chlorine and fluoride in order to reduce thyroid function suppression. Our favorite filtering systems are Berkeley water filters or a reverse osmosis system for your home. If using a reverse osmosis water filtration system, remember to replace your minerals in your water by adding a squeeze of lemon or lime in each glass!

Zinc is an important nutrient our body needs in order to adequately support our thyroid and it has also been shown to help boost our immune system as well. We recommend to most of our patients to take a daily zinc supplements. Zinc can be found in most multivitamins or taken as a single supplement, depending on what you prefer!
