She was scared saying the dog was barking and she believed someone was in the house. I talked her through how to systematically check the house with her pistol, thankfully there was nothing to be found. We realized she had relied on me being there and had not prepared for the “what if”. I have since discovered numerous people (both men and women) want to learn how to effectively check their home when the need presents itself. I will walk you through your home and discuss the use of lighting and furniture to ensure that when your family’s feeling of safety is on the line, you will be confident knowing you missed nothing and did it with the highest level of safety. I teach my clients to be safe and confident while protecting themselves and loved ones. I believe taking the time to go over individualized concerns as well as pracitcing with your weapon is a responsibility of gun ownership. That being said, shooting your weapon at the range is just as important as regularly handling your weapon at home safely, particularly when you have family in the house whom you are obligated to keep safe. I have a friend who shot his mirror because he saw a guy standing in the dark pointing a gun at him. Although I laughed, it would not be funny if anyone else was in that home.
