One day, it will be better.

But I know firsthand, that in the beginning (and sometimes in the middle!), healing feels a lot like breaking.

Breaking the rules you’ve followed for years.
Breaking the illusion that the things that made you feel safe are also hurting you in some ways.
Breaking away from the version of you that shrank yourself to try and feel valuable.

And yeah… it’s messy.

But you are not broken—you are becoming.
You’re shedding what was never meant to stay.
And that discomfort you feel? It’s your body and soul making room for something better.

So if you're in the thick of it right now, please don’t mistake your discomfort for failure.
This part hurts—but it’s also where the magic begins.

💬 Tell me: what’s something you’ve had to “break” through in your healing journey?
Save this for the hard days. Share it if someone you love needs to hear it. You’re doing brave, beautiful work.

Elimination diets can be a slippery slope straight into food obsession, guilt, anxiety—and yes, even disordered eating.

Sure, some people do need to eliminate foods for medical reasons (hi, celiac). But when a diet tells you to cut out entire food groups just to “be healthier,” it’s often toxic wellness culture.

I get trying to feel better physically or having a health condition you want to fix, I've been there! I cut out gluten at one point and dairy in another, then gluten AND dairy. But not only did it not fix things, it created a lot of stress and worsened my disordered eating.

Can you relate to...

🚩 Feeling scared to eat something you used to love?
🚩 Constantly Googling ingredients or feeling “bad” for not eating “clean”?
🚩 Stressed every time you eat out or can’t follow the rules perfectly?

That’s not balance. That’s not freedom. And it’s definitely not wellness.

You deserve to have a peaceful relationship with food—one where nourishment doesn’t come with a side of shame and stress.

Have you ever tried an elimination diet that ended up hurting more than helping? You’re not alone. I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments!

If you've ever looked in the mirror and felt frustrated, ashamed, or even furious at your body... you're not alone.

But what if your body was never really the problem?

What if the real issue was the culture that taught you to see your body as “wrong” in the first place?

The ads. The algorithms. The comments disguised as “concern.” The decades of messages saying thinner = better, worthy, lovable.

So here’s your permission--your encouragement even--to stop blaming your body for trying to survive in a system that’s been against it all along—and to start channeling that fire where it belongs.

Because anger isn’t necessarily bad. Pointed in the right direction, it can be empowering.
It can move us toward healing, rebellion, and reclamation.

A lower number on the scale or the tag might give you a quick hit of “I’m doing good,” but it’s not real self-worth.
It’s not peace. It’s not confidence.
It’s not the kind of deep, steady knowing that your worthy of love regardless of your size.

If you’re learning to step off the scale (literally or even just emotionally), I’m cheering you on. It’s brave. It’s hard. And it’s one of the most powerful steps toward food freedom and body trust.

💬 Drop a ❤️ in the comments if you’ve ever had to remind yourself that shrinking doesn’t equal healing.

This new cultural obsession with protein is wild. We've started treating protein like some magical macronutrient sent to save us from carbs and hunger and cure all our ills.

Somewhere along the line, wellness culture decided that eating enough protein = doing it “right" and we bought into it.

But when “how much protein did I get?” becomes the most important question at every meal… that’s not health. That’s obsession. And it lacks balance and nuance, which is essential when it comes to nutrition.

Here’s the truth:
🥗 Your body needs all kinds of nourishment—not just protein.
🍞 Carbs are not the enemy.
🧠 Mental peace is just as important as muscle mass.

If you're healing your relationship with food, it's okay to stop chasing perfection and start chasing peace. It's ok to put down the protein shakes and protein bars sometimes.

Food freedom includes flexibility. Joy. And yes—sometimes meals that aren’t “high-protein.”
