How often do you actually assess yourself?
Too many of us fall into the complacency trap — chasing comfort while quietly letting misery take the wheel.
Like the wise saying goes:
“The more you avoid discomfort, the more you make misery your master.”
Avoiding honest self-assessment? That’s a choice. And it leads straight to a life where you know you need to get better… but have no clue what or how.
Growth hits a brick wall when you’re trying to improve something you haven’t even clearly identified.
That’s why I do a quick, cold, honest check-in every single day on the 5 most important areas of my life:

My relationship with God
How I’m caring for myself (sleep, food, exercise, reading, what I consume)
How I’m loving and serving my wife
How I’m showing up for my children
How I’m stewarding my business

Start and end the day with this rundown. If something’s off — it immediately goes on my focus list.
Mistakes? Every. Single. Day.
But winners aren’t people who never fail… they’re the ones who refuse to stay there.
Commit to regular, truthful self-assessment.
Expose the misery, reveal the path, and watch complacency lose its grip.
Your time is too valuable to stagnate.
Assess honestly. Improve relentlessly. Leave an impact.
What’s one area you’re going to assess today? Drop it below 👇

Hard times aren't optional — they're inevitable.
The real question is: What will you DO with yours?
Most people turn their struggle into a competition: "Who has it the worst?"
They build the biggest sob story, gather a circus of supporters, and stay stuck in victim mode forever.
I refuse that path.
Your struggle might feel unique, but the burden comes for all of us.
The difference? Some let it destroy them. Others let it define them.
When you drop the victim identity and shoulder the cross with purpose, something shifts:
That heavy moment becomes fuel.
It deepens your roots.
It builds unbreakable resilience.
It catapults you into the next, stronger version of yourself.
Here’s the truth I live by:
People who master hard seasons don't just survive them — they start seeking hard things.
Because complacency is the real enemy.
If you're not moving forward, you're slipping backward.
So stop feeding the sob-story cycle.
Break the chains.
Write your own story of overcoming — then show the world how you did it.
Your hardest moment isn't the end.
It's the beginning of your greatest strength.
Which path are you choosing today?

“Let Me Just Try It Out” 💥
Talking with a friend about our kids’ sports, we realized something huge: Too many parents let kids quit the moment it gets tough or they don’t like the coach.
Not in our houses. Once you commit to the team, you show up—every practice, every game. Even if you’re the weakest player. Because the team counts on you.
This “try it out and quit” mindset is destroying a generation. It teaches that commitments don’t matter, discomfort is optional, and there’s always an easy out.
Curiosity is fine—shoot hoops at the park before joining a team, take an intro piano lesson. But once you COMMIT—verbally, emotionally, fully—there’s no quitting.
In my life: Once I go all in, I convince myself there are NO other options. 1 year or 20 years—I see it through.
“Let me just try it” = built-in escape clause. It means you’re already planning to quit when it gets hard. You’ll never transform because you never stay long enough.
Solution: Reduce options. Go ALL IN on at least 5 things this year. Say “I’m committed” instead of “I’ll try.”
Committed people take responsibility, push through, and WIN. That’s where real results and transformation happen.
Ditch the quitter mindset. Go all in—and watch your life change.

The Like Button Society 🩸
Remember early Facebook? Simple connection for college kids—no ads, no doom-scrolling. Check once a day, done.
Then the "Like" button arrived: genius for them, disaster for us. It turned life into a popularity contest, training us to crave validation. Who liked it? Who didn't? We became addicted to notifications, scrolling past real depth, logging off from hard conversations.
We've lost touch with being truly human—trading purpose for dopamine hits.
“Every minute worrying about others' approval is a minute lost building your great life.”
Be honest: How much do you chase likes? If the algorithm shapes you, you'll end up with a hollow life dictated by trends.
The fix? Kill the like button in your world. Reclaim your identity:

Invest in yourself: challenging books, art, music.
Daily device-free walks in nature.
Tech-free weekends.
Master a skill requiring real focus & creativity.

Build discipline, character, independence—and live for who God created you to be.
I'm grateful we saw its rise. Hopeful for its fall.
Ditch the crutch. Your life will transform. 💪
What do you think—ready to break free?

🎉 Welcome to 2026! 🎉
Make Monday Great Again (MMGA) is officially ONE YEAR OLD.
I started this as my own therapy amid the world's chaos — sharing observations, wisdom, and truths I've been graced to discover.
Some of you read every post and shared them widely.
Some tuned in occasionally.
A few even unsubscribed because it sounded too "political" (haha — it's about reclaiming greatness in our lives, not slogans!).
No matter where you land, I'm truly grateful for YOU.
This journey stems from a promise I made when starting my practice: to help people heal in mind, body, and spirit.
2026? It's more of the same — disciplined growth, deep reading, contemplation, and sharing it all with you.
Now, turn the mirror on yourself:
What does YOUR 2026 look like?

What good habit will you COMMIT to maintaining?
What new habit will you START?
What bad habit will you finally QUIT?

Habits shape who we become — the wins are hard, the cuts are tougher, but they're everything.
Here's to a powerful start to 2026.
Let's keep making Monday (and every day) great — together.
What's ONE habit you're changing this year? Drop it below! 👇

⚖️ The Value Equation ⚖️
Does attention = value?
In our hyper-connected world, marketers promise endless likes, clicks, shares, and streams if you just buy their shiny tools.
They swear it'll build your business, your influence, your life.
But here's the hard truth from years of experience:
It's one of the biggest lies of the 21st century.
We've been conditioned to chase celebrity status — believing that viral attention creates real value.
Monetarily? Emotionally? Spiritually?
No.
It's mostly distraction. Dopamine hits that pull us away from what’s true, good, noble, and beautiful.
This "attention culture" has brought negative value:

It's crippled our youth's ability to form real tribes.
Blocked young adults from meaningful relationships.
Made couples avoid the hard work of marriage.
Convinced entrepreneurs that growth comes without blood, sweat, and tears.

Even the "right" attention doesn't equal value.
True value comes from TRUTH — encountered in real life, through lived experiences with your tribe, just like humans have done forever.
The real equation?
Human connection + truth + time + experience = LASTING VALUE.
It's time to stop chasing clicks.
Turn off the phone.
Log off.
Reconnect with real people.
You'll rediscover what truly matters.
Who's ready to rewrite the equation? 💬

🛑 Identity Crisis Alert 🛑
Early in my practice, a mentor suggested joining patient support groups to better understand the struggles of those we help.
It sounded wise... until I saw the truth.
These groups weren’t about support.
They were competitions over who had it worst.
One-upping pain. Seeking validation in victimhood.
Let me be clear: there is ZERO nobility in making your disease your identity.
You are NOT your diagnosis.
You are NOT your MRI.
You are NOT your arthritis or your chronic condition.
When suffering becomes your personality, it’s time for a hard reset.
I’ve watched two types of people over 10 years:

Those who stay stuck:
Treat doctors like saviors. Expect pills, adjustments, or surgery to fix a lifetime of poor habits. Zero accountability.
The warriors who heal:
They own their story.
They upgrade every habit.
They craft a vision and refuse to let setbacks redefine them.
They choose their care wisely — never surrendering to fear-driven medicine.

The real story we need isn’t one of endless struggle.
It’s one of courage. Empowerment. Reclaiming what was yours from the start.
So next time you’re tempted to vent in a Facebook group about how bad you have it...
Pause.
Ask: Is this moving me toward the life I want?
Most of the time, the answer is no.
Shut out the noise.
Get back to work.
Own your story.
That’s how we break the identity crisis — and reclaim real hope.

Principle 6: There is NO process that doesn’t require TIME. ⏳
I was told anything worth doing takes way longer than you think. Raised pre-Amazon Prime and post-Prime, I’ve lived in two worlds.
Today? We’re drowned in speed + noise. It kills perspective on what’s actually achievable in real time.
We expect instant gratification in everything—social feeds, same-day delivery… even health.
I trained as a D1 athlete in a pre-NIL world. Every day was planned for peak performance at conference meets, part of a 4-year Olympic cycle. I didn’t wake up a competitor—it took years of commitment.
So why do we think one doctor visit fixes decades of neglect?

There’s no time to build an ark after the flood.

Mainstream medicine has us sicker than ever—most adults on meds, chronic disease rampant. We exhaust "Amazon Prime health" before turning to alternatives… then expect them to fix us in a day.
Noah didn’t wait for the flood. He built early.
Want a body free of disease? Start now. Don’t stop.
No Prime delivery for health.
Only commitment. Perseverance. Daily investment.
Don’t wait for the flood to build your ark.
Invest in yourself every single day—and with time, you’ll thrive.

Standards exist for a reason. 🥏💥
The Texas Relays: the Super Bowl of high school track in TX. Everyone who’s anyone fights to qualify.
Junior year, I finally pieced together discus. Qualified for the Relays—first of 3 times.
But here’s the truth:
Qualifying ≠ Winning.
I set the bar at “make it.” Not “dominate it.”
So I showed up… and crumbled under the lights.
Standards aren’t mean.
They’re filters.
They separate the participators from the podium chasers.
75% of my patients?
They’re “qualifying” for health:

“I’ll try keto for a week.”
“I walked once this month.”

25%?
They’re training to win:

Macros dialed.
Sleep locked.
Workouts non-negotiable.

Same body. Same 24 hours.
Different standards.
If you don’t miss the mark every now and then?
Your bar’s too low.
I didn’t go pro in throwing because my standards stayed junior-year level.
Took me a decade to see it.
Your move:
Are you checking health boxes…
or rewriting the record board?
Raise the standard.
Or stay in the stands.

🎹 Interest vs. Commitment: The Piano Lesson That Changed My Life
As a kid, I begged my mom for piano lessons. We had an old upright in the house, all my grandparents played, and I dreamed of being the next Beethoven (okay, probably just wanted grandma’s applause 😂).
Went to Brook Mays Music. After months? Best I could do: Hot Cross Buns and “EGBDF / FACE.”
Then I quit.
Here’s the truth:
🔥 Interest = You do it when it’s convenient.
💪 Commitment = No excuses. Only results.
The piano was a fling. Health? That’s become my lifelong commitment.
Look around your grocery store or theme park. We’re fat, sick, and nearly dead — and we know it. Most of us say we want to be healthy… but when it gets hard? Interest fades.
We’re the Prime Generation:
✅ Instant access
✅ On-demand everything
✅ Zero patience for the time it takes to heal or build health
I hear it daily in my office:

“Doc, I want to get healthy…”
…until the plan requires sacrifice. Then we see who’s truly committed.

Aging well — without pills, surgeries, cancer, or Alzheimer’s — isn’t a trend. It’s a daily vote for your future.
Your challenge today:
Stop interested in health.
Commit to it.
Question the “experts.”
Own your body.
You’re 1 of 1.
Interest got us sick.
Commitment gets us thriving.
Who’s ready to stop playing Hot Cross Buns with their health? Drop a 💪 below if you’re making the commitment today.

🌊 The Tsunami Is Here—But You Can Still Save Your Shoreline
Hokusai’s Great Wave shows tiny boats facing a monster swell. That’s us—drowning in tech abundance while longevity drops and chronic illness soars.
⚠️ The stats don’t lie:

1 in 5 global deaths = diet
#1 & #2 killers in the West: Heart Disease & Cancer (both diet/toxin-linked)
50%+ of Americans obese
64% on 1+ Rx drugs (266 MILLION people)

Uber Eats burgers, DoorDash lo mein, grocery delivery—zero effort, maximum damage. We built this slow-motion tsunami with every tap-to-order.
🛑 Pause. Ask: Where is the storm hitting MY biology?
✅ Counter-wave starts TODAY:

Fast a few days/week
Cut carbs, sugar, alcohol → go keto/carnivore
Ditch prescriptions when possible (talk to your doc)
Move daily—no app required

This didn’t happen overnight; reclaiming health won’t either. But every opposite choice you make builds your own tsunami of vitality.
🚨 Stop feeding the economy of excess.
🚨 Start stacking habits that mainstream media buries.
Your birthright = a strong, disease-resistant body.
Claim it now—or watch the wave crash.

🌱 The Art of Aggressive Patience
In a Prime world, waiting feels like failure.
But the Bible’s Old Testament? It’s one epic story of waiting—planting, conception, harvest, drought. Creation screams: good things take time.
2016: Hung my shingle, prayed for a flood of patients.
God answered… with patience. 😅
No overnight capacity.
No dopamine hits from today’s hustle.
Just daily actions whose fruit ripened years later.
Instant success? You’d fumble it.
If Israel got the Messiah on demand, they’d have shrugged and run back to Egypt.
If my clinic filled Day 1, I’d have botched care—I had 10 years of lessons to learn first.
Aggressive patience = relentless action + radical trust.
Keep planting.
Stay the course.
Work harder than yesterday.
One day you’ll look up—exactly where you dreamed, sustained by joy Amazon can’t deliver.
💬 Where are you practicing aggressive patience right now? Drop it below.
