Our barres are close to the wall on purpose.
With the feet under the barre and toes pulled back, we use the barre as leverage to tilt and grip, stabilize the lower body, and lift the shoulder blades off the mat. The result? Deep, precise abdominal work — just as Lotte Berk originally designed in her rehabilitative exercises of the 1960s.
