Connection is more than just being close, it’s an act of courage. 💪❤️
It means showing up, being vulnerable, and trusting someone enough to let them see your true self. In therapy and in life, choosing connection can be scary, but it’s also where healing begins. At Healing Hooves, we honor the bravery it takes to open your heart and build bonds that help you grow stronger every day.

Healing moves at the pace of trust. 🐴
Horses don’t need explanations—they feel what words often miss.
They meet you in the moment, with patience and presence. No judgment. No pressure. Just a path forward, one step at a time.
Let a horse show you what's possible.

What Horses Teach Us About Adaptability 🐴✨
Horses show us how to move forward even when the path isn’t clear. They respond swiftly yet thoughtfully to change, trusting their instincts while remaining fully aware of their surroundings. Their calmness in unfamiliar situations reminds us that staying grounded helps us adapt and thrive.

In the heat, horses can lose gallons of sweat in just one hour.
If you need a water break, they probably do too. Healing happens best when everyone, two-legged and four, is well cared for. 🐴❤️

Healing Hooves Psychotherapy (HHP) is a trauma informed strength-based facility that offers clinical services as well as psychoeducational programs. Depending on clinical relevance, sessions/lessons may be mounted or unmounted. Our entire staff is certified by, and adheres to Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International standards.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential treatment modality for individuals, couples, and families. Sessions are facilitated by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) and PATH International Certified Equine Specialists in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL).
Unmounted EAP sessions are designed to help clients explore and experience en-vivo ways their familiar behavior and unhealthy narratives impact all their relationships. Through varying interventions, clients will have the opportunity to create new patterns and break from preferred unhealthy coping strategies in a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental atmosphere.
Mounted EAP sessions, facilitated by an LMFT and a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (TRI), are designed to provide a powerful opportunity for the client to deepen their sense of connection with themselves and with their horse. Somatosensory experiences during these specially facilitated mounted sessions provides the brain with quality input that aides in reorganizing the brain and promotes bottom up regulation. Jobe and Shultz-Jobe (2016) assert that bottom-up regulation is promoted by engaging the brainstem with rhythmic, patterned, repetitive, and bilateral movement that the client does not have to produce for themselves.
