We’ve all felt that surge of motivation when a new season begins—setting ambitious goals and imagining a fresh routine. Maybe you aim for five classes or workouts a week, and for a little while, you’re on a roll... until life (as it always does) throws a few curveballs.
Here’s the thing: it’s not that you’re not committed—it’s that your plan might need a shift.
That’s why I want to share a simple mindset that has really helped me:
The Anchor-Class Approach...
Rather than aiming for “all the classes,” this is about choosing just one or two classes each week that you commit to—no matter what. These are your anchor points. Your non-negotiables. Your time to reset, reconnect, and breathe.
Think of it as booking a standing date with yourself—one you actually keep.
Why it works:
It builds real consistency. You don’t need five classes to see progress. One or two steady sessions creates rhythm, structure, and forward momentum.
It sets off a chain reaction. When movement becomes a regular touchstone in your week, it supports everything else—better sleep, deeper breaths, more presence.
It gives you freedom. You can still add in extra classes when time allows—but even if you don’t, you’re still showing up in a meaningful way.
How to start:
Pick your anchor days. Choose 1–2 classes you can almost always make. Plug them into your calendar and treat them like important appointments (because they are).
Choose what supports you. Your anchor could be a strong start-of-week flow, a high energy cardio class, strengthening with pilates or barre, or a gentle wind-down before the weekend. It’s all about what you need.
Stay flexible. If life throws you a curveball, that’s okay. Reschedule or take a different class to stay connected to your commitment.
This small mindset shift can make a huge difference in how grounded and supported you feel—on and off the mat.
See you in class soon! xOM,
Meg
