Daily classes, All Levels, In Studio or Livestreaming, Teacher Training three times a year, Plus study yoga philosophy: Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and The Upanishads. . Dhira is a community of yogis pursuing health, peace and a myriad of other benefits that a steady yoga practice provides. Our classes are fun and offer creative, intelligent sequencing, inspiring music, heart-felt messaging of yogic teachings and a sincere devotion to the roots of the ancient practices of yoga. The Dhira Yoga Center offers daily yoga classes, workshops and trainings that are designed to allow each individual to grow. Beginner classes (“Intro” and “Gentle Flow”) and more challenging (“Dhira Flow”) classes, private and semi-private classes, workshops, courses exploring such classic yoga texts as Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, The Upanishads and the Bhagavd Gita. Our acclaimed teacher training is offered twice a year. All of our offerings can be experienced in our beautiful studio or livestreamed to your home. These are the foundations of the Dhira Yoga Center experience.

“Atha yoga-anushasanam”. This is the first sutra in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It means “Now the instruction of yoga begins.” You’ve heard about the philosophy. Now learn the “how to practice” yoga to achieve the goal the Upanishads and Gita talk about, realizing the “True Self”. The Yoga Sutras are the most important text on the practices of yoga. The Yoga Sutras is the very ancient, canonical and practical, manual of not only yoga’s practices, but also the unfolding of yoga’s goals, obstacles, powers, and more. Build a much deeper foundation for your yoga practices and a much deeper understanding of yoga. This 8 week course meets on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00 to 8:15 pm, April 21 to June 9.

Yoga Nidra with Desiree
Yoga Nidra is a journey from conscious awareness into Yoga Nidra and back out again. Yoga Nidra is a deep rest (Nidra means Sleep) promoting profound relaxation and integration. This one hour Workshop starts in shavasana and includes settling in, setting a Sankalpa (intention), a body scan, breath awareness, experiencing contrasting sensations/emotions (heaviness/lightness, hot/cold, or joy/sadness) to deepen relaxation, guided visualization, repeating the Sankalpa, and finally, a gentle return to full awareness. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 8 hours of sleep. Shavasana times 10!!
