James “Jim” J. Kleikamp, 78, Wilson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Marquette, MI on Sunday May 17, 2026. He was born on March 30, 1948 in Daggett, MI, son of the late Royal and Marion (Ponegalek) Kleikamp. On November 4, 1972 he married the former Jean Piche at St. Bruno’s Church in Nadeau.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Army and is a proud Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a manager at Robinsons Furniture for over 24 years until his retirement in 1996. Jim loved woodworking and will be remembered for the many different wood creations he made over the years, donating many of them to different organizations.

He is survived by his loving wife, a daughter: Amy McKnight, a granddaughter: Haley McKnight, seven siblings: Gary Kleikamp, Ron (Cindy Kalous) Kleikamp, Donna (Steve) Cappaert, Diane (Allen) Sacheck, John (Carol Normand) Kleikamp, Bernard (Patty) Kleikamp and Dave (Sharon) Kleikamp, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Mike Kleikamp.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Thursday May 21, 2026 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Nadeau Township Cemetery with Tony Revord American Legion post #244 rites at graveside. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.

Mary Ann (Steinhoff) Yagodzinski, age 69, of Spalding, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2026.

Mary was born on October 24, 1956, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Gerald and Elsie Steinhoff.

Raised in lower Michigan, Mary moved with her family to Spalding during her senior year of high school. It was there that she planted roots and built a life with her husband of 34 years, Kevin, her three children, and her three grandchildren.

Mary found joy in a beautiful day on the golf course, family camping trips, and, most of all, time spent as a grandmother. She took great pride in her years of service with the Community Action Agency, providing in-home care to those in need.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Yagodzinski; her children, Amanda (St. Juliana) Reaser and her husband, David, and their son, Jackson; Jacob St. Juliana and his husband, Taylor Gehrcke; and Megan (Yagodzinski) Kleikamp and her husband, Peter, and their children, Evan and Lily. She is also survived by her siblings, Barb, Gerald Jr. (Butch), Donna, Kathleen (Kay), and Nancy, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday May 9, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (CST), at the Carney American Legion Post #487, 222 N US Highway 41, Carney, MI 49812. Eulogy and reflections will begin at 2:30 p.m. and food and refreshments to follow. We invite all who knew and loved Mary to join us in honoring her memory.

MARY ANN HENDERSON, 99 of Escanaba passed away on Saturday March 7, 2026 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. Mary Ann Boucher was born on July 27, 1926 in Escanaba to August and Marie (Berens) Boucher. Mary Ann married Roy A. Henderson in Escanaba. She worked at the National Food Store and Kmart for many years. Mary Ann enjoyed going to Hardees to have coffee with her friends, trips to the casino and was the “Bingo Queen.” She and Roy spent many winters in Brooksville Florida and enjoyed camping at Gooseneck Lake. Mary Ann loved her family dearly, cooking Sunday dinners and spending time together, is something Mary Ann looked forward to every week. Mary Ann was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include her 3 sons: Rick (Sherry) Henderson, Ronald “RJ” (Luann) Henderson and Bob (Anne Kelly) Henderson; daughter-in-law: Sandy Henderson; grandchildren: Rick (Gretchen) Henderson Jr., Todd (Tonia) Henderson, Lori Wyman, Krissy Gravelle, Tyler Henderson, Taryn (Ben) Overholt, Joey Henderson, Robert Henderson, Larry and Ryan; great grandchildren: Samantha, Cooper, Tess, Hailey, Saylor, Drake, Maggie, Jaden, Rogan, Kali, Miley, Harper, Mayven, Mason and Lucas. She is further survived by her siblings: Joan (Fran) Derouin, Tom (Laura) Boucher, Mike (Betty) Boucher and Rodrick (Cindy) Boucher; sister-in-law: Estelle Henderson; many nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents: August and Marie; husband: Roy A. Henderson Sr.; son: Roy A. Henderson Jr.; brothers: Dick Boucher and Don Boucher; and nephew: Mike Boucher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Mary Ann Henderson on Friday March 13, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Escanaba at 12:00 noon with Father Joseph Boakye Yiadom presiding. Marlene Ann Arduin, 74, Hermansville, passed away on Saturday January 31, 2026 at the Freeman Center in Kingsford, after battling a courageous fight against cancer. She was born on March 15, 1951 in Escanaba, daughter of the late Edward and Patricia (Perket) Bray. On February 12, 1972 she married the late Richard “Rick” Arduin at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding.

Rick and Marlene created a wonderful family together. They were a true love story that has become eternally together. Marlene enjoyed helping others and spent many years working in home health care and then became the director of the home health care program and directing the senior center in Hermansville until she retired. She loved her community and worked very hard to help with anything they needed. During the holidays she would be out delivering food, baked goods, presents and anything else she knew families would need to help them out. Marlene loved her flower gardens and bird watching with Rick. She also loved swimming in her pool (the deep blue sea) with her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family and most of all, the apple of her eye, her grandson Oliver. They loved having their Grandma Days together, where the two of them would come up with all kinds of adventures together. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Marlene baked cupcakes for every holiday imaginable for Oliver to bring to school because of both their love for holidays. She enjoyed playing cards and having some good laughs. Marlene will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by her three children: Nick (Angie) Arduin, Stephanie Arduin and Tyler Bray, a grandson: Oliver, a sister: Kayelynn Bray and nephews.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister: Cynthia Ohlson

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Monday February 9, 2026 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. A Mass of Cristian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. (CST) on Monday at St. John Neumann Church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. She will be laid to rest with her husband Richard in the Meyer Township Cemetery in the spring.

Robert “Bob” J. Gearhart, 66, Powers, passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2026 at home following a lengthy battle with cancer, surrounded by loving family and friends. Bob was born on July 28, 1959 in Howell, MI, son of Gwen Irene (Kinsey) and the late Donald Clearence Gearhart. On December 17, 1977 he married the former Susan Philipps in Carney, MI.

Bob was a hard worker all his life providing for his family. His joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting for wildlife and good deals, fishing with family, coaching youth sports, doing chains for NCA football, working on cars, and supporting his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. He was a jack of all trades and willing to help anyone in need, whether it was family or the random stranger. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing his canned goods, especially his hot mixed veggies, that were a favorite of his grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife Susan of 48 years, children: Michelle (Steve) Schwark, Sonja (Tom) Dwyer, Lacy (Jeremy) Gearhart and Andrew (Beth) Gearhart, grandchildren: Jordan, Bryce (Faith), Trent (Maddie), Carter (Nevaeh), Shane (Amber), Dakota, Shayla (Lane), Sierra, Athena, Ava and Brayden, his mother Gwen Gearhart, brothers: Lyle (Kathy), Ralph and Stan (Roseanna),as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends

Bob was preceded in death by his father Donald Gearhart and infant grandson Ryan Gearhart.

Richard “Rich” F. Mitchell, 82, of Wilson passed away on January 20, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 7, 1943, son of the late Richard and Eleanor (Annis) Mitchell in Chicago.

Rich moved to Michigan over 50 years ago and lived in Petoskey, Ga***rd, Caspian, and his favorite, Wilson. He was a medic in the Air Force, worked several jobs, including the Social Security Administration, and he enjoyed substitute teaching in his retirement. Rich also enjoyed playing tennis, Scrabble, Chess, music, songwriting, walking and reading. He was a converted Packer fan and he enjoyed playing with Lizzie and George most of all.

He is survived by his wife: Sharon, sons: Richard (Leidyn) Mitchell, Robert (Kelly) Davis, Thomas (Wendy) Davis and John (Julie) Davis, daughter: Tami (Joseph) Moksyzcke, and grandchildren Elizabeth and George.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his son: Robert Mitchell.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding, MI, with Tony Revord American Legion Post #244 rites at 12:30 (CST). A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.

Donald (Don) Clarence Gearhart, age 91, passed away peacefully in his Hermansville home with family on January 21, 2026....

Donald (Don) Clarence Gearhart, age 91, passed away peacefully in his Hermansville home with family on January 21, 2026. Don was born on November 4,1934, in Howell Michigan to the late Mary and Joseph Gearhart. He was a 1953 Howell High School graduate. He went on to work several different factory jobs and did farming in and around Howell, Michigan.

In 1955 Don married his beautiful wife of 70 years: Gwen Irene (Kinsey) Gearhart at Wrights Corner Church of God in Howell Michigan. They eventually moved with their four boys to the UP of Michigan and enjoyed farming. They started FaDaMare Farms and Don also drove the school bus. Don then went on to be a shipping supervisor at Gilbert and Bennett in Carney, Michigan which eventually became Superior Cedar Products.

Don was very involved in the Carney Free Church in Carney, Michigan. He loved making wood projects, as a matter of fact all of Don's walking canes were made by him using horse hames for the handles off of horse collars like the one in his obituary picture. He also made many other wood items and would always make extra to donate to several non-profit organizations for bucket raffles and such. Don also enjoyed hunting, gardening, and golfing and teaching his grandchildren to golf. Don Loved his Lions Football (every Sunday) and his Tigers Baseball. He also loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his parents Don is proceeded in death by his three brothers, two sisters, one grandson: Shane Gearhart and one granddaughter: Jolene Strouse.

In addition to his wife Gwen Irene Gearhart he is survived by four sons plus one they raised. Lyle (Kathy) Bob (Sue) Ralph and Stan (Roseanna). Plus, one Ken Stuart (Karen). Grandchildren: Michelle, Sonja, Lacey, Andrew, Nicole, Josaf, Felisia (Izzi) Codi, Lance, Heather (Vike), Jonathan (Groleau). Brian (Murray), Chris (Murray), Kathy (Murray), Jackie ( Murray), Pauline (Murray), Rick (Stewart) and Brian (Stewart), as well as several great-grandchildren.

At the end of the day, it was a race to the finish line with Don and Bob Gearhart. Don won and we think we know why! He went to hold the door and walk hand and hand with Bob to show him the way.

There will be a celebration of life for Don Gearhart in the spring. Date to be determined!

The Family would like to thank the Hermansville Fire Department for all their assistance in getting Don in the house so he could finish his final days at his home as requested.

Mary Eileen (LaChapelle) Savoie, 86, of Powers, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 31, 2025 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers with her loving family at her side.

Mary was born March 22, 1939, in Escanaba, MI, to the late Frank and Vida (Besaw) LaChapelle. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s School and worked at the Sherman Hotel and other Escanaba businesses after her mother passed away when Mary was only 14. She also worked in Appleton and other towns in the Fox Valley, living with her sister and brother-in-law while helping to care for her young nephew Ricky.

Mary met her husband Floyd Savoie on a blind date at a roller rink in 1957 and after 4 years of courtship were married on July 22, 1961 at St. Anne’s. They went on to celebrate 64 years together. Most of those years were spent on the Savoie family farm outside of Powers.

She was a devout Catholic who loved the rosary and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She was a member of St. Bruno’s Parish in Nadeau, MI, singing in the choir for many years, and along with Floyd, coordinating the monthly Eucharistic Adoration.

Mary was a devoted mother who said her biggest accomplishment and source of joy were her three children. She made special character and animal cakes for their birthdays and for a number of years was 4H Leader for a local club and the Kountry Krafters. She also provided daycare for her next-door neighbor’s children.

In addition to her love for her family and special love for her grandchildren, she loved music, reading and sang continuously throughout the day as she attended to her family and home. Mary loved sports, especially football, and could be found watching a Packers, Wolverines or Corn Huskers game on any given fall weekend. Mary had a big personality and was the life of the party!

Mary is survived and will be deeply missed by daughters: Eileen (Joseph) Sparpana, Renee (James) Vandermissen, son: Jesse (Laura) Savoie and leaves six grandchildren: Noah, Isaiah and Vivian Savoie and Allison, Taylor and Carly (Nick) Sparpana Ellering. She is also survived by a brother-in-law: Richard Wagner, seven godchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, along with a very special great niece Christy Servant.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother: Agnes, three brothers: Raymond, Ronald (Lois) and Francis (Janet, Francie), and a sister: Patricia (Dwight) Lee. Sister and brothers in law: Audrey & Russell Wright, Ray Cadeau, Harriet Wagner, Beverly & Herb Seefeldt, John Kadow, Vernon & Lillian Savoie, Melvin Savoie, Marian & Walter Samodral and Dick Morran. She was also preceded in death by a very special niece, Jean (Lee) Avila.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pinecrest and UP Health System Home Care & Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided Mary in these last months, weeks and days as she transitioned to her forever home with Jesus.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 6, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) at the Allo Coolman funeral home in Spalding with recitation of the rosary to begin at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. (CST) at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church in Nadeau with Fr. Benny officiating. Burial will take place in the Nadeau Township Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to St. Bruno’s Parish.

Marilyn Jean (Kovacs) Bartnicki, 81, Powers, passed away on Thursday December 25, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 14, 1944 in Trenton, MI, daughter of the late John A. and Mildred J. (Weaver) Kovacs. On August 21, 1965 she married Jerry Bartnicki at Mt. Carmel Parish Church in Wyandotte, MI.

Marilyn graduated from Taylor Center High School in Taylor, MI in 1962. She then worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company as an operator and unit clerk before moving to Powers, MI.

She is survived by her husband, two children: Suzanne (James) Moreau of Dafter, MI and Jeffrey (Brenda) Bartnicki of Volo, IL, four grandsons: Mathew (Emily) Moreau of Pickford, MI, Nicholas (Katelyn) Moreau of Traverse City, MI, Justin Bartnicki of Volo, IL and Jarrett Bartnicki of Volo, IL, great-grandchildren: Peyton and Brendan Moreau of Pickford, MI, two brothers: George (Mary Jo) Kovacs of Livonia, MI and John (Mary) Kovacs of Traverse City, MI, as well as nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.

In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no public services.

Cindy M. Wilkey, 64, of Powers, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at her home.

Cindy was the love of Carl Keppard’s life and a cherished daughter of Bonnie Miron. She will be remembered for her love of family and the joy she found in those closest to her.

She is survived by her sisters: Tawny, Tammy and Shelly, her son: Daniel (Carly), her daughters: Valerie, Danielle (Chris) and Melinda, her beloved grandchildren: Phillip, Victoria, Ethan, Ticara, Jesse, Dakota, Autumn, Blayke, Christian, and Alexea. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Toby and Adahra.

She was preceded in death by her father: John Miron, her brother: John and her sons: Jimmy, Johnny and David. Cindy also leaves behind her beloved fur babies: Baby, Shiner, Boy, Mack, and Sam, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Nicole Marie Oja, 55, Hermansville, passed away unexpectedly at home due to multiple ongoing health complications on Saturday December 20, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1970 in Escanaba, MI, daughter of the late Robert “Bob” and Cynthia (Bray) Ohlson. On August 11, 1990 she married Timothy “Tim” Oja at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding.

Nicole was very proud to have earned her MBA from Troy University while working full time and raising her son; Matthew who she adored so much. She then worked the majority of her career in banking but took a sidestep later to help support Tim’s career which involved extensive travel. Most recently she was assisting with the family business.

She greatly loved cooking for her family and friends, and no one would ever go away hungry. Nicole also had a great love of animals, especially her cats: Charlotte, Lucy and Lilly, her dogs: Dixie and Baxter, and her grand dogs: Grizzly and Diesel. She loved dogs so much that she would empty the local shelters if she could have. One of her favorite past times was watching the movie “Ralphy” and would probably hold the record for the number of times watching it. Mostly, Nicole will be remembered as a very loving wife and mother.

Nicole is survived by her loving husband, her son: Matthew Oja, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Robert “Rob” “Oly” J. Ohlson.
