Allergy & Asthma Associates-Reno

Allergy & Asthma Associates-Reno Physicians treating allergy and asthma in Northen Nevada and Northern Califorinia We specialize in non-surgical treatments.

Allergy and Asthma Associates are specialists in allergy and asthma and related conditions. We are highly trained and have many years of practical experience treating tens of thousands of patients. There are many different kinds of tests we can perform if necessary. Testing can be performed on people of all ages. Some of these tests require advance preparation and would need to be scheduled on a second visit. Allergy skin testing determines allergic sensitivity using the skin. They are performed by scratch testing, intradermal testing or patch testing:

In addition, we have state-of-the-art pulmonary function testing. This test measures how much air you can blow out of your lungs and how fast the air flows out. We can perform this test before and after bronchodilators (asthma inhalers) to measure improvement. We also perform this test with exercise to assess exercise induced asthma. In addition our office provides the pollen count report for all of Northern Nevada. It is availible both by calling our office at 775-359-5010 ext 35 and online at http://allergyasthmareno.com/index.php/pollen-report

🌾 Weekly Pollen Count Update – Reno/Sparks Area 🌳

Just when we thought we had Mother Nature figured out, she’s pulled a little trick on us! Despite our earlier findings, both area trees and grasses made a surprise appearance in this week’s pollen count. 🌬️

Here’s how the numbers broke down:
🌲 42% – Pine tree pollen
🌿 8% – Grass pollen
🌼 50% – W**ds (including sagebrush, tumblew**d, and rabbit brush)

We suspect last week’s warmer temperatures and those overnight winds may have stirred things up and contributed to the unexpected tree and grass pollen presence.

As always, we’ll keep tracking changes closely — because if there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that Reno/Sparks fall weather loves to keep us guessing! 🍂

Stay tuned for next week’s update, and remember to take precautions if you’re sensitive to seasonal allergens. 💨

🌿 Weekly Pollen Count Update 🌿

This week’s pollen report shows w**ds as the only pollinator in the area, with overall levels remaining in the low range. The breakdown includes:

🌾 Pollen Count Update – Week of October 21, 2025 🌾

First, we’d like to apologize for the technical difficulties that prevented us from posting earlier this month. We also want to note that due to last week’s heavy rains, pollen collection was not possible—thank you for your patience and understanding!

This week’s report shows that only w**ds are currently pollinating, and they remain in the low range. The primary w**d pollens detected are sagebrush and rabbit brush. 🌿

👉 Tree and grass pollens are completely absent, indicating that the 2025 pollen season is coming to an end. With the current trends in counts and forecasted weather, we're likely nearing the official close of the season.

That said, we’ll continue to collect and report weekly (weather permitting) until we confirm a completely absent pollen count.

🍃 This Week's Pollen Count is In! 🌾
The First official count of Autumn/Fall!

Nature always keeps us on our toes, and this week is no exception!

🌿 W**ds are ruling the air right now, coming in HOT in the HIGH range and making up the bulk of the pollen count. Here’s the breakdown:

Sagebrush leads the charge at a whopping 86%

Tumblew**d + Rabbitbrush are holding their ground at 11%

🌲 Pine continues to be the only tree pollen detected—still in the LOW range, making up just 2% of the count.

🌱 And just when we thought it was out for the season… grass pollen is BACK! Only 1%, but enough to remind us that Mother Nature has a sense of humor.

📅 And don’t forget to check back next week as we roll into October with a fresh count!
