Friday night, and I've got my $1.79* in hand - it's Ponderosa time!

Ponderosa in Westmont (west suburban Chicago), IL. Circa very early 70s photo from the Westmont Historical Society, via Vanished Chicagoland.

For a few years there, Ponderosa was almost a weekly ritual for our family, the only place I remember back then that offered free soft drink refills. Sometimes my folks would spring for dessert, sometimes not. Either way, it was always a high point of the week!
