Another successful Confined Space Refresher with the Peapack-Gladstone DPW. This is a program we’ve delivered for them consistently over the past few years, and that kind of commitment matters. Confined space hazards don’t change, but complacency can creep in. Staying sharp, current, and disciplined is why they continue to choose RPI.

If your agency is due for a refresher or wants to tighten up confined space operations, now is the time to get it on the calendar. Visit RescueProInc.com to start planning your next training program.

Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reflect on leadership, service, and the responsibility to stand up for what is right, even when it’s hard. His legacy reminds us that progress is driven by action, integrity, and a commitment to serving others, values that resonate strongly within the fire and rescue service.

Take a moment today to reflect, learn, and continue pushing forward in your own community. Visit our website to see how RPI supports training and preparation that serves something bigger than ourselves.

Strong work by another local New Jersey fire department as first responders from the Oradell Fire Department successfully rescued two teenagers from the ice yesterday afternoon. This incident is another reminder of how quickly conditions can change and why training, preparation, and decisive action matter when lives are on the line. Credit to the members on scene for a well-executed rescue and to ABC7NY for sharing the story.

Recently, RPI delivered an 8-hour Artificial High Directional Rope Training program for the Basking Ridge Fire Co. No 1 & EMS and Lyons VA Fire Department. This hands-on session focused on building and operating high directional systems in environments where natural anchors are limited, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and solid decision-making under load. Strong turnout, focused reps, and real-world application made this a productive day of technical rope training.

If your agency is looking to strengthen rope rescue capabilities beyond the basics, now is the time to start planning your next training program with RPI.

Ice Rescue Weekend is ON. We checked conditions this morning and thanks to higher elevation and a little help from Mother Nature, we still have plenty of solid ice to work with. Everything is set and we’re ready to go.

We’ll see everyone starting tonight at 18:30 at the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company!

Another strong way to close out the year with a Man in Machine Open Enrollment hosted by the Flanders Fire Co. #1 and Rescue Squad. It was a little brisk outside, but the training was FIRE. From complex entanglements to real-world extrication challenges, this class delivered hands-on, high-impact reps that matter when things go sideways on scene. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up ready to work and push their skills to the next level.

Does your agency respond to ice or swiftwater emergencies? When seconds matter and gloves are on, the question is simple: what knife are you carrying?

The Force 6 Twist-Lock Knife: Compact is built specifically for water and ice rescue work. Featuring a patent-pending Twist-Lock sheath, this knife deploys fast under stress and gives an audible click when it’s locked back in place. The full-tang 420HC stainless steel blade with a black PVD finish delivers strength and reliability, while the serrated, curved edge handles rope, webbing, and gear with ease. A blunt chisel/pry tip reduces the risk of accidental punctures, making it a smart choice for close-contact rescues. Available in yellow, black, blue, and orange, with the stiletto point offered in black only, this is a purpose-built tool for agencies that work in moving water and on ice.

Ready to upgrade your water and ice rescue equipment? Request ordering information today at RescueProInc.com/contact.

Another Vehicle Rescue Technician–level Open Enrollment is in the books, and this one delivered. Back in November, first responders from across North Jersey came together for an intense, hands-on program focused on advanced rescue and extrication techniques. From complex stabilization challenges to aggressive tool work and real-world scenarios, this class pushed skills beyond the basics and reinforced the decision-making required when seconds matter. Training alongside agencies from across the region strengthens interoperability and ensures crews are ready when the call is anything but routine.

If your agency is looking to take vehicle rescue skills to the next level, now is the time to start planning. Visit RescueProInc.com to request information and get your training on the calendar.
