🎨 Build resilience through creativity — that's what we do at Flora and Associates.
Art therapy gives kids and teens a powerful outlet to process emotions, work through challenges, and develop coping skills in a safe, judgment-free space.
Through guided creative expression, children learn to understand their feelings, shift negative thoughts, and build confidence from the inside out.
Whether your child is navigating school stress, big life changes, or everyday ups and downs, creative tools help them grow stronger and more self-aware.

We are so honored and incredibly proud to officially introduce something that started as a Christmas miracle… The Flora Foundation 🤍

We’re not even joking—what began as a lighthearted conversation this past Christmas quickly turned into something so much bigger. We realized we had the opportunity to bridge a gap… to provide services and connect individuals to mental health support who need it most, but simply can’t afford it.

And just like that, in a few short months, something meaningful was built.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been working nonstop—and now we finally get to share it with you. You may have already seen the impact through our amazing intern, Jessly, who has been leading both group and individual sessions for adults with developmental disabilities this past year, made possible by the foundation.

And we’re just getting started.

There is no limit to the change we hope to create. Help us spread the word, support the mission, and be a part of making our world a healthier, more accessible place 🤍

When children struggle with big emotions, defiance, or behavioral outbursts, therapy alone is often not enough.

Not because therapy doesn’t work — but because behavior doesn’t live in a therapy room.
It lives in daily interactions with parents.

Over time, we saw families gain insight in sessions but struggle to apply it consistently at home.

That’s when we realized the missing piece wasn’t more consequences or more strategies.

It was guided parent coaching rooted in connection.

That realization is why we created The Connected Family Method™ — a research-informed approach that helps parents respond calmly, reinforce positive behavior, set clear boundaries, and follow through without damaging connection.

Because when parents feel supported, real change becomes possible.

✨ Meet Alexa ✨
We are so excited to introduce Alexa Robertiello-Poulter to the team at Flora & Associates 🤍
Alexa specializes in working with teens and adults, and brings a depth, insight, and grounded presence that clients feel the moment they sit with her.
She has a unique reputation as a “therapist for therapists”—someone clinicians themselves trust when they need a space to process, grow, and be supported. That alone speaks volumes about the level of care and expertise she brings into the room.

Ever wonder how our therapists get kids to actually engage in therapy?

It’s not luck. It’s not just “being good with kids.”
It’s intentional. It’s clinical. And it’s a specialty.

At Flora & Associates, our therapists are trained to meet kids exactly where they are—high energy, big emotions, shutdown, silly, anxious… all of it.

Because before a child can regulate, they need to feel understood.
And that starts with something called co-regulation.

We match their energy.
We connect before we correct.
We create safety in the moment.

And from there—we teach the skills.

That’s how kids learn to name their feelings, calm their bodies, and build real confidence that carries outside the therapy room.

This work isn’t one-size-fits-all.
It’s specialized, intentional, and built around how kids actually experience the world.

And it’s why what we do works. 💛

Recovery means learning to trust food — and yourself — again. 🍽️💛
Remember:
• Food is not the enemy
• No food is “good” or “bad”
• You deserve nourishment — physically and emotionally
If you’re navigating your relationship with food, we’re here to help. Link in bio to book.

🎨 We’re thrilled to introduce our new guided art journal — built to help kids and pre-teens build confidence, strengthen self-talk, and grow with purpose.
🧩 Created by a therapist and parent, this journal offers simple affirmation prompts, reflection activities, thought-challenging exercises, confidence-building pages, and space to safely express emotions.
🖍️ Designed for kids ages 4–12 and pre-teens navigating big feelings (and helpful for teens too), it teaches easy daily mindset practices to shift inner dialogue toward encouragement and progress.
✏️ This isn’t about perfection — it’s about small, steady steps: understanding feelings, practicing positive self-talk, and growing resilience.
📩 Want one for your child or to learn how we use it in therapy? Message us to inquire — we’d love to help.

This book isn’t about becoming a better artist — it’s about creative healing. Julia Cameron reminds us that creativity is a birthright, and when it’s blocked, so are our emotions and sense of self. As art therapists, we see this truth daily: healing often begins when we create without judgment.

A powerful read for anyone ready to reconnect with expression, play, and emotional honesty.

We believe deeply in therapy.
But we also believe this truth:
Real change does not happen in a 50-minute session once a week.
It happens in the moments between sessions.
At bedtime.
During homework.
In the middle of a meltdown.
In the car ride home.
At the dinner table.
That’s where behavior shows up.
And that’s where it must be guided.
The Connected Family Method™ was built around this reality.
Instead of positioning therapy as something that happens to your child…
We position parents as active participants in the change process.
We give families tools they can immediately use in real time — so strategies don’t stay in the office. They live in the home.
Because sustainable transformation happens when:
• Parents understand behavior
• Parents respond with intention
• Parents practice consistency daily
• And connection stays at the center
We don’t just teach skills.
We coach implementation.
Change doesn’t happen once a week.
It happens every single day.
And we walk alongside you through it. 🤍
