Parents… we’ve been working on something BIG behind the scenes.

And this isn’t something we just threw together.

This was built from:
• Years in therapy sessions
• Real parent struggles
• Real tears
• Real “I don’t know what to do anymore” moments

Everything parents share behind closed doors…
we took it all and poured it into something powerful.

Something that’s going to help parents feel seen, supported, and less alone.

We’re putting the final touches on it now.

Parents… you’re going to feel this one.

You know those therapists who nod along and say helpful things… and they’re fine. And we appreciate them. Truly.

But then you find F&A and suddenly you’re like… “Ohhh. I get it now.”

At Flora & Associates, we don’t just talk about what might help.We practice it. We try it. We implement it.

Our clinicians have real experience, real training, and real tools—so when life throws something unexpected your way, you won’t get a “deer in headlights” moment from us. We’re prepared for the hard conversations.

And we promise… we also know when you’re not actually “fine.” 👀

Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental rituals meant to reduce anxiety from intrusive thoughts. They bring temporary relief but strengthen the OCD cycle over time. With therapy, especially ERP, you can break that loop and reclaim your life.
Curious about starting therapy? Our team is here to help — info in our bio.

If you’ve ever said…
“My child tried therapy and hated it.”
“My daughter wouldn’t talk.”
“They just asked her a million questions.”

Trust us… we hear this all the time.

The truth is: kids can’t do therapy the way adults do.
They’re not going to walk into an office, sit on a couch, and talk about their feelings for 45 minutes.

Kids communicate through play, art, games, movement, and imagination.

That’s why when families come to us after trying other places they often say:
“They just didn’t understand my child.”

And here’s a little secret most people don’t realize…
Many therapists don’t work with kids because connecting with them requires a completely different skill set.

At Flora & Associates, connecting with kids is what we do best.

Our office is intentionally designed to help kids and parents feel safe the moment they walk in.
Because before we work on emotions, behaviors, or anxiety… we build trust and connection.

Through art, games, creativity, and play, kids slowly let their guard down.
And that’s when the real work happens.

Without even realizing it, they’re learning how to handle:
• nighttime anxiety
• big emotional outbursts
• “attitude” that’s really hurt underneath
• scary thoughts
• food struggles
• and those big feelings that feel impossible to explain.

That’s why so many of our kids say:
“Can I come back tomorrow?”

Because our therapists are kids at heart too.

And when kids feel safe, understood, and connected…
that’s when real healing begins. ✨💙

We’ve been a little quiet over here…

Not because we slowed down —
but because we’ve been building something big.

Late nights.
Early mornings.
Countless edits.
And a lot of conversations about what parents actually need.

We’re almost ready to share what we’ve been working on…

And we truly believe it’s going to change the way families feel supported.

More soon. 👀

If you’re reading this… try a small, calming reset. 💛

🧩 Sipping water slowly through a straw can help slow your breathing and bring your body back to a calmer state.
🎨 It’s a simple, portable tool that kids, teens, and adults can use anytime they feel anxious or overwhelmed.

Helping children practice small, mindful strategies like this builds confidence and emotional regulation skills they can use for life. 💛

All jokes aside — this is something we take very seriously.

As licensed clinicians, we are mandated reporters. That means by law, if we have reasonable suspicion that a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, we are required to report it to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP).

It’s not optional.
It’s not personal.
It’s about safety.

Being a mandated reporter means:
• We don’t investigate — we report concerns.
• We don’t need proof — just reasonable suspicion.
• Our role is to ensure children are safe.

And here’s the part families need to hear:

Whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so, we tell families first. We explain why a call needs to be made, what information will be shared, and what the process typically looks like. We walk you through it. We don’t disappear and make secret calls behind your back unless doing so would increase risk.

Our job is to support children and families — even in hard moments.

Therapy is a safe space.
Safety is always the priority.
And transparency matters.
