A beautiful journey! That is how I would describe Brighter than the Sun, SUP and SUP Yoga. A hope, a vision, a space for all to come together and experience the amazing healing powers of the water. A chance to try something new. A chance to meet like minded people and share stories. A chance to turn fear into excitement. I believe we did that. Actually, I believe we did more than that. We set a presidence for what could be achieved as a water community through learning how to paddleboard.
What started out as 5 has become over 200! I have witnessed most of you transform your lives on and off your boards. A gift I will never forget nor take for granted. I am so proud of this community of paddling women. I thank you for being available and open to my teachings.
Since recently moving off the lake, I have decided to take my energies and turn them inward and onward. Paddling new waters and setting new goals for myself and my family. I will no longer be teaching SUP on Lake Mohawk nor will I be coordinating the Witches Paddle. A decision not taken lightly.
I have always said, even small ripples can create a wave. You have brought awareness to those who have been affected by domestic and sexual violence. I am eternally grateful to Lake Mohawk Country Club and all of the local businesses and volunteers who have made the past Witches Paddles a success. I am most grateful to you, my SUP Witches for giving me the opportunity to watch you take an idea and help turn it into an unforgettable event of amplifying connection, growing awareness and celebrating courage!
