Better late than never… here’s a little recap from our Herbalism Through the Seasons Workshop: Spring Edition 🌿
We began the day slowly and intentionally, blending our own personalized spring tea mixes to sip on while we introduced ourselves, and focused on breathwork and gentle body release. It was the perfect way to ease into the day and connect with one another.
From there, we followed Sherri on an incredible herb walk around her property. Along the way, she shared medicinal uses for the plants growing around us, practical foraging techniques, and stories about how she incorporates specific herbs into her clinical practice. It was educational, grounding, and inspiring all at once.
After the walk, participants created their own custom oxymels based on their personal spring needs and goals, some even incorporating herbs freshly gathered during the herb walk itself, which made the experience feel even more special and connected to the season.
We were then treated to a beautiful homemade spring lunch prepared by Sherri, filled with fresh seasonal ingredients and so much care.
In the afternoon, Sherri taught us about the language of taste and how different flavors correspond to herbal actions within the body. Participants then crafted either an infused oil or infused vinegar to take home and continue working with the plants beyond the workshop.
We closed the day by reflecting on our spring intentions and goals.
It truly was such a powerful and educational experience, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.

🍄‍🟫When you purchase a Mushroom extract from Synergy Herbal Works, you are getting a product that is not mass-produced somewhere far away… our Sparta apothecary uses traditional double decoction methods to pull out beta-glucans, polysaccharides, sterols, triterpenes, and other supportive compounds that medicinal mushrooms are known
We make and offer Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail & Maitake extracts. Each with both a similar & unique profile of use.
Reishi- Is often called the “Mushroom of Immortality.” Traditionally used to help support stress resilience, immune modulation, sleep quality, nervous system balance & overall restoration. Rich in triterpenes & polysaccharides, it’s a favorite for people running on empty, feeling depleted, or needing deeper support during seasons of chronic stress.
Lion’s Mane- Is mostly known for its ability to supply cognitive & neurological support. Studies show it has potential roles in supporting nerve growth factor (NGF), memory, focus, mood, & healthy neurological function. Reach for it when you are looking for support with brain fog, concentration, mental fatigue, or overall brain health.
Turkey Tail- Known for its immune-supporting compounds including PSK & PSP polysaccharides. Turkey tail studies show it helps with immune modulation & microbiome support. Often used to help nourish immune systems & support the body during times of recovery.
Maitake- Also known as the “Dancing Mushroom,” has traditionally used for immune modulation, metabolic support, blood sugar balance, & overall vitality. Maitake is often used by herbalists & practitioners for people looking to support healthy glucose metabolism, immune resilience, energy production, & adaptive balance within the body.
Mushroom extracts can be taken daily as part of a wellness routine. General traditional & practitioner use for double decoction extracts often includes 1–2 dropperfuls (approximately 1–2 mL) one to three times daily, with smaller maintenance amounts used daily & increased use during times of higher stress or immune demand. Individual needs & health situations vary, so herbs and mushrooms should be used thoughtfully & intentionally

Herbalism Through the Seasons: Spring Workshop
📅 Saturday July 18th 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Join us for an immersive day of herbal learning, connection, and exploration on the homestead. In this summer edition of Herbalism Through the Seasons series, reconnect with creation and learn how to support your body using the abundance of summer herbs.

In this hands-on, exploratory workshop, we’ll highlight the plants that are plentiful during the summer months. We’ll discuss how to work with these herbs safely and effectively, as well as how to incorporate them into your daily and seasonal routines.

We’ll explore their energetics, harvesting tips, and traditional uses, and you’ll get hands-on experience creating an herbal preparation to take home with you.

A nutritious, seasonal lunch is provided.

Whether you’re new to herbalism or looking to deepen your seasonal practice, this workshop, taught by Sherri Stickler RH(AHG), will help you deepen your relationship with botanicals and broaden your comfort and skills with herbs.
