Another beautiful day in the mountains! I've had several inquiries lately about Thermography in our location in downtown Sparta. (3 North Main Street in the Treehouse) Thermography is done with a high definition Infrared system that takes temperature images of the body mapping the hot, warm, and cold areas. It is a test of PHYSIOLOGY (how the body functions) and can be used to find signs of dysfunction and inflammation very early. We use Thermography as a tool to help our patients find those problem areas and make lifestyle changes to keep them healthy, or refer them to the correct professional for the next step in their care. This way we try to put the power and decision making back with the patient. Many people compare Thermography to Mammography, but that is not an accurate comparison. Mammography is an ANATOMICAL test in which the tissue is compressed and radiated to try to locate a diseased area that is already there. So we use Thermograms to try to prevent disease, and doctors use Mammograms to try to find or locate disease. I would be happy to do a little class on the different kinds of testing and how they work if anyone is interested???????
