*Just a reminder *
Providing health information before a massage isn’t optional. It’s required. In Missouri, licensed massage therapists are legally required to collect relevant health history to ensure your session is safe and appropriate for your body. Beyond the law, it’s also an ethical responsibility.
Your health information helps me avoid contraindications, tailor techniques to your needs, and provide the safest, most effective massage possible. Skipping this step puts your well-being at risk, and thats not something I'm willing to do.
I have had clients come in with known DVTs. Had I not done a thorough health questionaire, we would have just done the massage and the blood clot could have become dislodged during the massage, and traveled through the body.
Every single licensed massage therapist in Missouri is going to require health information. If they don't, they probably aren't licensed or are an esthetician who should only be providing relaxation massage, not therapeutic work (which would still potentially be dangerous for some health issues).
If you ever feel uncomfortable providing your information digitally (which is encrypted and stored according to laws and guidlines) I also have paper forms we can go over at your appointment time. But having as much information as I can before the appointment will only help me help you more efficiently.
If you refuse to sign health, waivers or policy forms, thats okay. But I will have to refuse service.
Thank you for understanding 💚
