We truly enjoyed being part of the Mental Health Counseling Department Job Fair at TTU! It was inspiring to meet so many dedicated students preparing to make a difference in the field of mental health. Su***de is the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10-14, and the third leading cause for people ages 15-24. The team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt wants parents to be aware of signs that a teen may be considering self-harm or su***de.

They may: say things about not wanting to be alive, or indicating self-harm; have changed sleeping and eating habits; withdraw from activities they used to like; have trouble with daily functions; give away belongings; act out or run away.

"I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker facilitating group therapy. In group, we focus on building emotional awareness and regulation, exploring options for communicating emotions, learning to distinguish between feelings and behavior, and developing healthy coping strategies. My approach is healing-centered, neurodiverse, and rooted in evidence-based principles. I am excited to bring my passion and expertise to help children and families grow into their most authentic selves, strengthen their communication, and build emotional confidence.

Our therapist attended the 2025 TLPCA Counseling and Therapy Summit. Isha presented her poster on connecting parents of autistic children with support and resouces in rural areas! We are excited to see her work to develop this need in the Upper Cumberland.

Isha was initiated this evening into the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. She has almost completed her first year at TTU in their doctoral program!
