Hello My name is Keyona Fagan, the sole owner of One Shot. Just a little background about me and my business. I am a NRA and Sled certified firearm instructor. Having my own store and gun range has been a dream of mine for a very long time now. I want to teach individuals that discharging one shot out of a firearm can change not only your life but the lives of many others. This all started on April 6th 2010. My grandmother was murdered at my eye doctor appointment in Spartanburg SC by my father in I guess, you could say a domestic violence incident. On that very day, I lost everything I knew to be true about life and everyone I loved. My father was arrested and sent to jail days later. My mother, a victim of domestic violence, ran away and fled to another state. My only sibling enlisted into the military and was sent to basic training that same week. I lost my grandmother, the backbone of our family. To add, I lost myself. As an innocent party to this tragedy, I was left with nothing or no one. Both sides of my family was angered by incident but that left me in the crossfire. I was forced to grow up at 16 and make a life for myself. I slept in my car or friend's houses as much as I could without making anyone suspicious because I was afraid to go into the foster care program. I worked at a grocery store and hardly made enough for gas much less for food. My life was completely turned upside down all from one shot which turned fatal. I decided I wanted to start a movement and be apart of something that is bigger than me. At first, I was terrified of guns and what they could do to people but I soon realized, it's not the guns, its the gun owners that were utilizing them. I figured as one woman I could never take guns off the streets, but I could study them and learn how to properly use them and once I became certified I could share it with others. Not only could I teach proper handling, I could instill the importance of establishing a healthy mindset and being a responsible gun owner and knowing when to use them verses when to walk away and if I could just save one life from one shot, I've done my part. I want to prevent any child from going through what I went through but if I can't, I want to show them that there is life after and that they can be anything they want to be regardless of the circumstances of their life or the life your forced to live.
