💜 Dementia Awareness | Women’s History Month
Dementia doesn’t just affect memory — it changes the lives of families, caregivers, and entire support systems.
Many caregivers experience something called ambiguous loss, grieving someone who is still physically here while watching them slowly change as the disease progresses.
During Women’s History Month, it’s important to recognize a powerful fact:
📊 Nearly two-thirds of people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias are women.
Women are also more likely to serve as caregivers, providing the majority of care and emotional support for loved ones navigating this disease.
At Potters of Eden, we see every day how important patience, compassion, and dignity in care are for those living with dementia and for the families who love them.
Every moment of kindness matters.
Every memory shared matters.
Every caregiver deserves support.

Has dementia touched your family or someone close to you? What is one thing you wish more people understood about caring for someone with dementia?
Let’s raise awareness together and support the caregivers walking this journey. 💜
