I am passionate about the power of the counseling relationship to help people grow and transform. I am a proud North Carolina Tarheel alum and a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where I finished with dual Masters Degrees in both Christian Counseling and Theological Studies (Christian Leadership). I spent over a decade in full time Christian youth ministry before becoming a mental health counselor. It was in those years of ministry that I discovered I had a natural bent towards listening, deep caring, and a true desire to assist others in growing from the inside-out. As a counselor I hope to help others grow through becoming more self-aware and finding new ways to live and think. I have worked with clients struggling with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, abuse, marital difficulties, divorce, parenting dilemmas, grief, self-esteem, life transitions, and purpose. I use a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, and Family Systems. Always, I am client centered and looking for my client's strengths. I believe biblical truth has the utmost power to transform so integrating those principles into the counseling process is of great value to me as well.
