Spartanburg County Medical Society The Spartanburg County Medical Society is a nonprofit that brings physicians together. The Alliance is made up of spouses of physicians.

Spartanburg County Medical Society is a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of South Carolina. Its purpose is to bring together into one organization incorporated under the laws of South Carolina ethical qualified physicians in and around Spartanburg County to promote the science of medicine and the art of medicine, to work for the betterment of public health, to strive for unity,

harmony and the welfare of the medical profession and to unite with similar organizations to guide the South Carolina Medical Association and the American Medical Association. The Spartanburg County Medical Society works closely with its companion organization, the Spartanburg County Medical Alliance.

The Spartanburg County Medical Society appreciates everyone that attended and participated in our Legislative Forum. Special thanks to our Spartanburg County elected officials and our physician members that served on the panel. We had a wonderful conversation about current bills that impact all physicians and our patients. We were pleased that the South Carolina Medical Association's CEO, Richele Taylor, and Vice President of Advocacy, Holly Pisarik accepted our invitation to the Piedmont Club for this very successful event.

We're glad to celebrate Dr. Michael Humeniuk and our oncology research team for their contributions to clinical trial A222001, recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

This study found that men with prostate cancer saw a significant reduction in hot flashes when treated with oxybutynin, an important step forward in survivorship and side-effect care.

Congratulations to Dr. Humeniuk and our investigators for helping advance the future of oncology care!
