Our Rock Hill team was honored to gather with Karen’s family and friends to celebrate her retirement. Karen’s words, “I have enjoyed getting to know each of you and caring for our patients… never forget you make a difference every day, often in the little things,” reflect the compassion she brought to every patient and teammate. Karen, thank you for the lives you’ve touched and the example you’ve set. We wish you happiness in this next chapter.

Today is a reminder of the importance of advance care planning. Conversations about health care wishes help ensure that individuals, families, and care teams understand what matters most when medical decisions need to be made. Hospice teams are honored to support patients and families as they navigate these important discussions with compassion and clarity.

April is National Donate Life Month, a time to raise awareness about the life-saving impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Across the country, thousands of individuals are waiting for a transplant that could offer a second chance at life. We join healthcare organizations nationwide in recognizing donors, recipients, and the clinical teams who make these life-saving gifts possible.

We are honored to announce we have been named a USA Today Top Workplaces Award for a third consecutive year! In addition to being a national Top Workplace, we were also recognized recently with Top Workplace Culture Excellence Awards for the healthcare industry, purpose & values, employee appreciation and wellbeing, innovation, and professional development. Meet Carter Walker, a true HOSPICE HERO.

When an electrical fire started in the building that houses our Pawley’s Island branch, Carter, Director of Operations, acted immediately by using a fire extinguisher and shutting off power to help prevent the fire from spreading. When firefighters arrived, they shared that her quick thinking saved the entire building. We are grateful for Carter’s calm leadership and the way she leads and serves every day.
