If your animal ingests something that you are afraid is poisonous, there is a number for animal poison control that you can call anytime. There is a fee to get the info that you need. The last I heard it was $45. This is still cheaper than going to the vet, and if it is late at night, it could allow you to resolve the issue without ever having to leave home. The number is 888-426-4435.
Sometimes you can call the manufacturer for help as well. I found a wild bird once that had flown into fly paper. It's wings were completely stuck in that goo from one end to the other. I called the manufacturer and they told me to use vegetable oil to dissolve the glue. I cleaned the bird up, and let her go. The next day she was back on her nest. 💕
