This rich and flavorful Cowboy Butter Sauce is the perfect accompaniment for steaks, seafood or even crusty bread. Its smoky, garlicky and herby goodness will leave you dipping again and again!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
Directions:
Melt the Butter Magic: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter gently. Add the olive oil to enhance its smooth texture.
Build the Flavor Base: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes until it’s fragrant (but don’t let it brown).
Add the Zing: Whisk in the Dijon mustard (if using), lemon juice, and lemon zest. These bring a tangy brightness that balances the richness of the butter.
Season to Perfection: Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to blend the flavors into a harmonious mix.
Finish with Herbs: Turn off the heat and stir in the fresh parsley and chives. These add a fresh, herby touch that elevates the sauce.
Serve & Enjoy: Pour the warm sauce into a serving bowl and use it as a dip for steak, shrimp, roasted vegetables, or even bread. Garnish with extra herbs if desired.
