March is more than a change in weather; it’s a psychological pivot. 🌸

As the "cocooning" of winter ends, many of us feel a sudden rush of energy—or a sudden sense of overwhelm. This month Heather is helping us navigate this transition with intention rather than reacting to the "social rush."

Inside our March Guide:
✨ Mental Spring Cleaning: How to audit "cognitive clutter."
☀️ Circadian Anchors: Using morning light to stabilize your mood.
🌿 The 5-4-3-2-1 Walk: A simple ecotherapy tool for grounding.
🔋 Social Budgeting: Staying within your "Window of Tolerance."

Stop trying to force your January resolutions. March is for flexibility.

Looking for a way to unwind next weekend?

We spotted this upcoming event at the Matthews Opera House and thought it looked like the perfect "Sunday Reset." On March 8th, they are hosting another Self-Care Sunday session.

This month features a sound meditation with Polly Garrett. If you’ve never experienced a sound bath with crystal bowls, it’s a pretty incredible way to clear your head before the work week starts.

The Quick Stats:

When: Sunday, March 8 @ 6:00 PM

Where: Matthews Opera House & Arts Center

Price: $15 (Heads up: they usually limit these to 30 people, so it fills up fast!)

Grab a yoga mat and a blanket if you decide to go. You can find more info and tickets on their website here: https://www.matthewsopera.com/event/self-care-sunday-3/2026-03-08/

"I don’t have time." "My life is too messy."

Does that sound like the internal dialogue running through your head today? In our latest book spotlight, "I Was Told There'd Be a Village," Melissa Wirt explores the beliefs that keep us parenting in isolation.

Through conversations with mothers across the country, Melissa leads us through the small changes she made to seek out connection. She also recounts how she talked to mothers from across the country, and soon saw that the beliefs keeping each of us parenting solo. The "I don't have time" and "my life is too messy" were keeping us from accessing our most powerful resource: each other.

The Village isn't gone; we just have to build it back. The stories she uncovered, combined with her own, became a foundation for slowly building back community.

Have you found your "village" in the Black Hills? Tag a fellow parent who helps you keep it all together! 👇

For many new moms, the fear of being judged—or even the fear of what might happen to their children—is a heavy burden to carry alone. In this video, Jessica Ruzicka, an Enso counselor, discusses how the stigma surrounding postpartum depression often prevents women from reaching out for the support they deserve.

It is time to replace that fear with advocacy and community. You are not failing, and you don’t have to do this alone. 🤍

"Did you know that kindness is a natural mood booster? 🧠

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day, and science shows that being kind to others releases oxytocin and dopamine in your brain, too.

Need a 'Kindness Quest' for Spearfish today? Buy the person behind you a coffee at your favorite local shop. Leave a kind note in a book at the Grace Balloch Library. Help a neighbor shovel their walk.

Let's spread a little warmth through the Hills today. What’s one small act of kindness you’ve witnessed or done lately?

Relationship status: Practicing self-compassion. 🤍

Valentine’s Day often focuses on our connections with others, but at Ensō, we believe the most important relationship you’ll ever nurture is the one you have with yourself.

This year, we’re celebrating 'Self-Love' as a mental health practice. Whether that’s setting a boundary, carving out time for a quiet walk in the Canyon, or finally booking that first therapy session—you deserve the same kindness you give to everyone else.

How are you showing yourself some love today? 👇

Did you know that your mental health and your heart health are deeply connected? 🩺✨

February is American Heart Month, and while we often focus on diet and exercise, your emotional well-being plays a massive role in how your heart functions. Chronic stress, anxiety, and depression can keep your body in a "fight or flight" state, which physically taxes your heart over time.

How therapy supports your heart: ✅ Lowers Cortisol: Managing stress reduces the "stress hormones" that can strain your cardiovascular system. ✅ Regulates the Nervous System: Tools like mindfulness and CBT help move your body out of survival mode and into a state of rest. ✅ Builds Resilience: When you have the tools to navigate life’s pressures, your physical body doesn't have to carry the full weight of the stress.

At Ensō, we believe in treating the whole person. When you invest in your mental wellness, you are quite literally taking care of your heart.

Did you know that maternal mental health impacts the entire family system? When a mother is emotionally supported, we see stronger attachment and healthier development for the infant, too.

Yet, many mothers stay silent due to stigma or the pressure to "have it all together." Today on the blog, we’re discussing:

~ The difference between "Baby Blues" and deeper clinical concerns.

~ Common red flags like intrusive thoughts and persistent guilt.

~ How to support the mothers in your life without judgment. .

"Indoor season" in the Black Hills is beautiful to look at, but we know it can feel heavy for parents.

When the playground is off-limits and the days feel shorter, the "mental load" of parenting can feel much heavier. If you’re feeling more touched-out, burnt-out, or just plain tired of the four walls of your living room—you are not failing. Parenting requires immense regulation, and it's okay to admit that the lack of sunshine and space is making it hard. Remember: your worth as a parent isn't measured by how "perfect" you are. Sometimes, the most successful day is simply getting through it with grace for yourself.

Hang in there. The days are getting longer, bit by bit. 🌿

If you’re feeling the "post-holiday slump," you aren't alone. In fact, you might just be "wintering." ❄️🕯️

Our January book recommendation is "Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times" by Katherine May. In a world that demands constant growth and productivity, May reframes the lean, cold periods of life—those times when we feel unproductive, sad, or stalled—as a natural and necessary cycle. It is a beautiful meditation on the fact that nature doesn’t bloom all year round, and we shouldn't expect ourselves to, either.

If this season feels heavy, remember that rest is not "doing nothing"—it is an essential part of your healing and growth.
