David Nelson over 35 years ago, Nelson Hearing Aid Service now has clinics in Spencer, Sheldon and Estherville. All diagnostic services are provided by licensed Doctors of Audiology, including: comprehensive hearing evaluations, pediatric hearing tests and tinnitus assessments. In addition to providing hearing services and products, we have specialties in tinnitus, pediatric audiology (Spencer), c

ustom hearing protection and musician monitors. As an independent audiology practice, we’re able to offer hearing aids from a variety of manufacturers, including: Starkey, Phonak, Lyric, Oticon, Resound, Unitron and more.

We are so excited to introduce the newest member of the Nelson Hearing family! 💕

Our audiology assistant, Angie, and her husband Alex welcomed sweet baby Amirah on Thursday. Mom and baby are both doing well, and big brother Aiden is completely in love!

For our Spencer patients: While Angie is on maternity leave, we kindly ask that you call ahead for same-day services and cleanings, as wait times may be longer. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we support Angie during this special time! 💗

Today is a very special day at Nelson Hearing… we turned 50! 🎉

On a wing and a prayer, Dad started his audiology clinic with one thing repeating in his mind: “Take care of the patient and they will take care of you.” He believed that if you provide honest, quality care with heart and compassion, everything else will fall into place.

There have been ups and downs along the way, but here we stand—50 years later—a second-generation, family-owned clinic that is stronger than ever.

We are so grateful for our father’s vision, dedication, and the example he set for us. We know we stand on his shoulders, and every single day we strive to care for our patients in a way that would make him proud.

And to our patients—thank you. Your trust, loyalty, and support over the years mean more to us than we can ever express. You are the reason we are here today.

Here’s to 50 years… and many more to come ❤️

Last week at the Spencer Clinic, we surprised Angie with a baby shower. Just a few more weeks until Baby Amirah arrives—we can’t wait to meet her!

Exciting news from the Spencer office! 🎉

Dr. Grange’s assistant, Angie, has officially completed her Audiology Assistant program from Nova Scotia! She worked incredibly hard to reach this goal, and we are so proud of her.

Angie set a goal to finish the program before heading out on maternity leave — and she did it, with a few weeks to spare!

She has always been Dr. Grange’s right hand, but now she’ll be able to help even more of our patients. Congratulations, Angie!

Dr. Paul Nelson and Dr. Grange grew up tagging along to conferences—but back then, they were more interested in the hotel pools and local sights. Now they’re carrying on the family tradition!

Go check out the new exhibit at the Clay County Heritage Center!
Hearing is just one part of the ADA, and there’s so much to see and learn!

Over the years, we’ve collected a bunch of amazing hearing-related historical pieces, and we’re so excited to share them for this exhibit. From ear trumpets to eyeglass hearing aids, it’s incredible to see how far technology has come!

Huge thanks to the Clay County Heritage Center for letting us be part of this showcase!

Big smiles around here yesterday!
Dr. Grange got the sweetest surprise — one of our awesome patients brought her a Barbie with hearing aids!
Because honestly… what girl doesn’t love getting a Barbie? And one that rocks hearing aids? Even better!
We love seeing how toys are celebrating inclusion and helping kids see that hearing aids are totally amazing.
Huge thanks to Nancy for the thoughtful gift — we absolutely adore her and can’t wait to show her off in the office! 💕
