Massive thanks to our guest speakers for supporting our internal sales meeting yesterday. We covered product solutions, research, and completed necessary animal health certifications!

🔸Tracie Egger with Elanco hosted a training for our team
🔹Jay Moore and Lori Henning shared Healthy Farms by Bioverse's product portfolio, so we can better support our pit and lagoon customers.
🔸 We learned about Merck's cattle products, implant usage, and latest research from Joel Olsen at Merck Animal Health Cattle
🔹Our field marketer, Harvey Williams, led PQA and TQA trainings, as well as covered topics addressed at the 2025 Leman Conference.

We see Dr. Johnson was in Ames, Iowa, yesterday for the DVM Class of 1970 reunion! Here at Spencer Ag, we are incredibly proud to know and work with Dr. Johnson. Thank you for your 55 years of service to the industry, Jack!

55-YEAR REUNION. The College of Veterinary Medicine's DVM Class of 1970 is in Ames today for its 55-year reunion. Members of the class toured the new VDL this afternoon.

Spencer Ag Center has served farmers for over thirty years, providing animal health, nutrition, and veterinary services. Based in Spencer, Iowa, we service roughly a 100-mile radius with feed and animal health. We also serve nationwide with our show feed line, Purple Pursuit.

Assistant Purchaser:
This position will assist in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of agricultural products, equipment, and supplies. This role requires knowledge of animal agriculture practices and supply chains, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in the procurement of agricultural materials, including equipment, feed, and other farm-related supplies.
•Support the Purchaser in evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
•Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure timely restocking of critical items.
•Research and compare products and services to identify cost savings and quality improvements.
•Track orders and ensure timely delivery; resolve issues related to delays or defects.
•Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory using procurement software or spreadsheets.
•Coordinate with farm managers and production teams to ensure purchasing aligns with operational needs.
•Stay informed about agricultural market trends, seasonal needs, and new product developments

❓What did you enjoy most about driving?
🚛 "I enjoyed traveling outside of my normal here-to-home route. Being a farmer, you could watch crops growing, planting, and the harvest seasons while driving. I miss seeing the friendly customers that you say all the time... the ones that appreciate your help."

Dan Miller, our recently retired truck driver, is now warehouse support for our team! While he may not be on the road anymore, we greatly appreciate all he does. He's been driving for as long as we've known, from Holco Feeds ➡ Sioux Nation Ag Center ➡ Spencer Ag Center! If you see Dan, be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday today!!

❓What was your favorite part of driving truck?
🚛“I’ve always enjoyed going to the farms, they remind me of when I grew up on a farm raising dairy cattle. When you drive, you get to know everyone that you go to...”
He often described leaning against the fence and wiggling his fingers at the cattle as they came up to lick them. When a farmer would ask what he was doing, he’d respond, “I’m playing with the cattle”.

During Truck Driver Appreciation Week, we want to shine a spotlight on two incredible team members who go above and beyond: Kyle Long and Andrew Quail. While they aren't truck drivers— Kyle is a veterinary assistant and Andrew is a field marketer—they've stepped up countless times to support our team when we're in a bind.
