let’s talk about our love for the abundant catnip🌿

with its square stems, soft leaves, and white flowers reaching for the sun. steve, of course, weaving between them like it’s there just for him.

catnip is known to be beloved by cats for its mischievous effects, but once the initial energy is worn off they rest and sleep calmy basking in the sweetness of the sun if they can.

For us humans, catnip doesn’t have that energy burst effect. rather, it provides the calming support our nervous and digestive systems want and need.

it’s a gentle healer & one we can all turn to.

it’s a comfort for fussy and whiney children (and adults), a soothing aid for restless bellies and minds, calming the spirit & helping us find calm centeredness.

Our gardens are open to the public every day! You are welcome to come and have lunch, play a game, read a book, or just enjoy nature with friends or by yourself!

The apothecary is open Monday–Friday from 10am–5pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am–6pm and the gardens are free and open to the public every day!

Aside from our open gardens, we have seedlings and plants available for sale with rolling discounts throughout the month, or we’d love for you to join us for some upcoming classes.

Chamomile is really popping up in our garden. We love its playful spirit and resilience!

Chamomile is a gentle ambassador of spirit and peace in the mind, allowing us to release tension and dissolve worries. It offers a soothing presence to open our hearts to its spirit. It is a gentle antiviral and loves to calm the nervous system of both mamas and babies :)

🌱How to identify: it has an apple scent and a hollow core. Self-seeding and tough!

Spring is finally here! As the days grow longer and warmer, we invite you to celebrate this seasonal turning point AND the 10th anniversary of Wild Roots Apothecary at our newly established love, wild Hive community space.

The Spring Equinox represents beginnings, returns, and rebirth—a perfect time to plant seeds both in our gardens and in our hearts. Come help us nurture and build our community as we welcome the abundance of spring & the opening of the love, wild hive!

Garden Work Party (3–5 PM) - Help us wake up our garden from its winter slumber with many loving hands

This morning, we sat at the confluence of the north and South forks of the Thornton River. Taking time to reflect on what we are letting go of, what is coming together, as Spring is starting to sprout up through this not-quite dormant Earth.

Today was our March Wild and Weedy Walk. Thank you for joining us today and you’re welcome to join us next month on April 8 at 11am!

Today we held cottonwood, nettles, common mallow, plantain, eastern pine and more herbs that support everything from immune support, grief support, astringency, strengthening, clarity.
