Working with Fascia is crucial in bodywork. Fascia is like saran wrap, when it sticks together it crinkles up and becomes stuck. This can lead to the entire shoulder girdle being pulled towards the spine, or the hips being pulled near the lower ribs. Therapeutic massage will smooth out the fascia, and I use Dynamic Cupping to lift the fascia and release the adhesions stuck fascia can cause.

If you've lived in fight or flight for awhile....it takes the body a minute to settle back into rest & digest. We are not meant to live on edge, and the stress of that can created an environment for dis-ease to sneak in. So when you lay on my table, know it's OK if it takes a bit for your body to let go. You are in good hands.🧡

What is cupping and what does it do?

I use two forms of cupping. The first is Dynamic Cupping using a silicone cup that creates a vacuum on the skin, lifting & releasing the fascia as well as the muscle tissue. I use this on clients who are very tight all over. This form of cupping does not leave marks on the skin.

I also use Static Cupping which is when the cup is left in one position on the body. I use this when an area feels "stuck" or has a lot of nodules in the muscle tissue. These will leave a mark, because this form of cupping increases blood flow to the area. It starts the bodies natural healing process bringing oxygen and nutrients to that area as well. It also stimulates cell repair and reduces adhesions.

Any one of these issues can cause your muscles to guard, making your gait off. This leads to further issues up or down the body. A lot of times, where your pain is, is not where it actually comes from!

Case in point-
Had a client with pain behind her right shoulder blade. Although she had issues there, the culprit was the left hip. It was tight and pulling the hip up, causing the left shoulder to pull down, creating pain in the right scapula! Her right shoulder was 1.5 inches higher, but now she's even! The human body is absolutely fascinating!
