4-5 months ago I was working out 2 times a day when I had time - once at work and once at home. I was very discouraged because the scale was not moving much and my body was in pain from inflammation and being overworked because of the extra weight it was carrying.
What I did not yet understand was the importance of hydration, sleep, my mind set, and eating habits are just as important to losing weight and being healthy as working out.
Exercise alone won’t help you lose weight - that was a shock to me. When you eat more calories then you planned from highly processed foods the extra calories turn into fat. When you eat an extra bagel or candy a day because you worked out and think you deserved that extra treat - you can gain extra weight from your body storing the non needed calories as fat. You could try burning those extra calories by working out, but in order to burn 1 pound of fat you would next to burn 3,500 calories in your workout plan. Most of my work outs I was burning 200-300 calories so that would take me about 10-12 workouts to lose a pound of fat.
So remember that losing weight and developing healthy habits is going to take more then just working out - you need to focus on the bigger picture of your health - eating, hydration, exercise, sleep, your mind set, and developing a positive community of support.
