At Grassroots, we talk a lot about slowing down and tuning into your whole self. Not just your mind, but your body, your energy, and your emotional capacity. The truth is, rest comes in many forms and each one supports a different part of your wellbeing. This season, we’re inviting our community to reflect intentionally.

What type of rest do you need this week? Your nervous system is always communicating, this is your chance to listen with compassion.

The end of the year is a natural invitation to integrate our lessons, our challenges, our progress, and our hopes.
Reflection isn’t about judgment, it’s about awareness.
These questions help us explore where we’ve been, where we are, and where we want to go.
Take a breath. Pick one question. Start there. 🌿

When life feels heavy, gratitude can feel impossible or even invalidating, but gratitude isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s about finding one small thread of light that helps you keep going.

In tough seasons, start tiny: the warmth of your blanket, a deep breath that actually lands, the sound of your child laughing in the next room. These small moments don’t erase the hard, they help you carry it with more hope.

And remember: gratitude isn’t toxic positivity. You’re allowed to hold both pain and beauty at the same time. That’s real resilience.

Grief shows up in more places than we often recognize.
It can come with life transitions, identity shifts, changing relationships, lost dreams, or simply realizing life looks different than we expected.
There is no “small” grief.
If you’re carrying something heavy, you deserve support while you navigate it. 🤍

Access to food is not a privilege, it’s a right. When food insecurity rises, it’s not because people have failed, it’s because systems have.As benefits change, more Spokane families are being left without consistent access to food.

Community support networks are stepping in where systems fall short. Let’s amplify them, resource them, and make sure everyone knows where help exists.

Share it. Save it. Use it. No one in our city should go hungry.

Learning to tolerate distress doesn’t mean ignoring pain, it means building the capacity to stay present with it until it passes. These skills can help you regulate your nervous system and move from survival mode back into connection.
