Annika is our beloved facility dog. She is a source of calm for patients and families alike. This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for Annika, her handler and our caregiver Laura, Canine Companions, and for the Providence Foundation for making moments like these possible.

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) met for their first bargaining session on Thursday, Nov. 20. We appreciated the engagement and discussion during this first session.

We are committed to working collaboratively and productively with the union bargaining team to reach a new agreement that is fair and supportive for our nurses.

Hard work doesn’t stop for injuries. When Yates Colby injured her shoulder, she worried about getting back to hauling feed bags and climbing onto her tractor.

Thanks to the care team at Providence Holy Family Hospital and St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Medical Center, she’s back to doing what she loves—working hard and living life on her 20-acre farm.

1 in 10 babies is born prematurely worldwide. At Providence, we’re proud to provide care in the highest-level NICU in the region, supporting the tiniest and most fragile patients.

Today, our babies and caregivers are dressed in purple, the official color of prematurity awareness.

More than 130 students from 10 local high schools explored emergency medicine during our ED Open House at Providence Holy Family Hospital and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center — part of Providence’s commitment to growing a local healthcare career pipeline.

They toured adult and pediatric EDs, joined ambulance and life-flight demos, and practiced triage using real-world scenarios.
