Pay tribute to our veterans by joining the Race to Feed Our Veterans 5K — a partnership between Meals on Wheels Spokane and Fairmount Memorial Association to raise funds to provide meals for senior veterans in need. 🏃‍♀️🐾

Enjoy a scenic walk/run through Fairmount’s Riverside Memorial Park and the tree-lined hills of Greenwood Memorial Terrace. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels — and yes, dogs are welcome! 🐕

🌭🍺 After the race, celebrate with a complimentary beer and hearty chili while connecting with fellow supporters and honoring those who’ve served our country.

Please join us in celebrating our Employee of the Month, Michael O'Connor!

Michael joined our team in May of 2024. In his short time with us as a lead embalmer, he has brought so much value and wealth of knowledge to our team. Michael is ethical, reliable and a great team player. His work in the care and preparation of our decedents is beautifully done that families have an opportunity to say to good bye to their loved ones. We are appreciative of Michael's leadership since April 2025. Under his guidance we see a team that gets the work done no matter the obstacles. His eye of detail and meticulousness ensures that all the decedents in our care are treated with dignity and respect. We are glad Michael is on our team.

Marisa is a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director & Embalmer, recently licensed in Washington State. Her journey in funeral service began in 2013 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, where she built the foundation for the meaningful career she has today.

Inspired by her grandmother—who cared for the Wilsey family, owners of a funeral home that has served their community for four generations—Marisa carries forward a legacy of compassion and service. Though her grandmother passed before Marisa began her studies, her influence continues to guide Marisa’s work every day.

With every family she serves, Marisa is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized support during life’s most difficult moments. For her, this work is more than a profession—it’s a calling to make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
Outside of work, Marisa loves hiking, skiing, traveling, and reading. She’s also a proud pet parent to Badger the turtle, Sedona the lizard, and Marley the cat.
