Tonight we celebrate and honor our Veterans at Southside Community Center... Thank you Tzena Scarborough for the photo op and Rudy Lopez from the WA State VA Cemetery in Medical Lake for joining Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory's staff tonight . It is always a wonderful dinner and we are so proud and thankful for our Veterans and are always honored to be part of this wonderful event!

This last Saturday Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, alongside numerous other Spokane businesses sponsored the 2023 GSC Meals on Wheels Road Rally. The pit stops for the rally have games associated with them so the drivers can score points in order to win the rally. Our game was Chicken Flicken.... throw a rubber chicken and if it lands on the disk you're aiming for, you get points. It is harder then you think, believe it or not. Those rubber chickens bounce!

Our receptionist, Eric dawned the chicken costume and won over everyone who visited our Pit Stop... It was a fun and meaningful day at Hennessey on Division and in addition, we won the Best Pit Stop of the entire rally. Thank you to our staff and volunteers who assisted and all the rally cars and passerbys who stopped, donated and for voting us The Best Pit. We are looking forward to next year!!

The Edelweiss plant is one that flourishes in the Alps of Switzerland. The meaning of the word is Noble White Plant and the white bloom on the plant symbolizes devotion. When a spouse of 65 years, who was born and raised in Switzerland, passes away and her husband hosts a service as beautiful as she was, one thing crossed our mind as a gift to remind him of the love and devotion they shared and that is the gift of an Edelweiss. Thank you for sharing her memory with us at Hennessey Funeral Home.

Funeral Director, Dean Lewis and Managing Partner, Melissa Johnson enjoyed a day out at the Harrington Golf Course for the annual Down the Stretch Ranch Golf Tournament. This event is one of our favorites to attend. We have served a lot of families who attend this event. It is always nice seeing families again and enjoying some Golf while we are at it and sponsoring the tournament for such a good cause..
