Yesterday was my 1 year zipperversary from PTE at UCSD! While I still feel like I have a ways to go, I cannot believe how much improvement I've made since surgery. Thanks again to the CTEPH team down there and my local pulmonologist. Who knows where I would be now without your support and aid. 💙💜🫁

Hello all!

Collette here, with an update on Amanda!

Amanda was given restrictions in regards to how much she can lift, apply pressure and moving her arms. She can't lift more than 5 pounds, and cannot move her arms back more than a few inches. Sleep has been difficult as she wakes up when the pain management wears off and due her limitations, she has been very sore. She had a difficult time sleeping in San Diego, but has gotten more sleep since we've been home.

Amanda is keeping a positive attitude, and through it all remains resilient.

We will keep y'all updated!

Love always,
Amanda's CTEPH support team

Hello folks!

Today is a great day for a few reasons! One of Amandas closest friends, Heather, came to visit Amanda for a few days!

Amanda also took a walk around for a bit to get her blood flowing. She had another line removed from her neck, and has been impressing her respiratory therapist. Ya love to see it!!

Thank you all for your support,

Her CTEPH team- 💙 💜

Hey hey hey!

This is Collette with a really cool update. Amanda is out of the ICU! She has been working with physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and occupational therapists to help her body adjust. Alot of nurses say that today is the hardest day, in terms of pain. Amanda continues to impress those around her with her kindness, and good humor.

Hello!

This is Collette.

Amanda is awake! The nurses and doctors are currently working with her to remove various tubes that were helping her breathe, and keeping her body safe while under anesthesia and healing. During this process they will do every thing they can to keep Amanda as comfortable as possible.

We are SO proud of her. Fingers crossed we get to see her tonight. Please keep her in your thoughts while she begins a tough healing journey.

Love always,
Her CTEPH team 💙 💜

This is Collette with an exciting update:

Amanda met with her anesthesiologist this morning at 6am, and shortly after was rolled away to the Operating room. At about 3pm this afternoon, we got a call from her surgeon confirming they got all the clots out of her lungs, and that the surgery went very well.

We are on our way to see her, right now! She is in the ICU for the next few days. Today she is still in the ventilator and asleep. They plan on waking her up tomorrow, and hopefully taking the breathing tube out.

Thank you all for reading!

Hello all! This is Collette dropping by with an update!

We made it to Sandiego, CA! Over the past couple days Amanda has had a few tests done including labs, chest xrays, and a VQ scan. Tomorrow she will have a right heart catherization, and a pulmonary angiogram. After these tests have been completed, we will meet with her doctor who will confirm if Amanda is eligible for a Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy surgery. The staff at UC Sandiego are so kind, and informative. We will keep you all updated as we recieve information from her medical team!

Signing off till next time!
